 JOB TITLE:  Google Cloud Engineer II (Implementation)

Rackspace is hiring Cloud Engineers to deliver Fanatical Support with Microsoft Azure
Fanatical Support for Azure includes a wide range of services and features to help customers make the most out of their chosen hosting strategy
Using your deep technical expertise, you will help customers optimize their workloads by providing application focused assistance to build, deploy, integrate, scale and heal using native Azure and 3rd party tool-chains and automation oriented agile principles. 

Through both hands-on and consultative approaches, you will be responsible for supporting customers with tasks including provisioning and modifying Cloud environments, performing upgrades, and addressing day-to-day customer deployment issues via phone and tickets

 Being successful in this role requires: 

• Working knowledge of Google Cloud Products & Services, Relational and NoSQL Databases, Caching, Object and Block Storage, Scaling, Load Balancing, CDNs, Networking etc • Excellent working knowledge of Windows or Linux operating systems – experience of supporting and troubleshooting issues and performance • Intermediate understanding of central networking concepts: VLANs, layer2/3 routing, access lists & load balancing • Good understanding of design of native Cloud applications, Cloud application design patterns and practices • Working knowledge of using Terraform

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Responsibilities: 

• Work with a talented and highly engaged team of Architects, Engineers, Relationship Managers and Product Teams • Automate PAAS and IAAS deployments for customer environments on Google Cloud platform • Educate customers on Google and Rackspace best practices and architecture • Assist in educational briefings for teammates to advance in technical trainings for continued growth • Provide a continuous Fanatical Support experience for our customers

Qualifications: 

• 5+ years' experience working with Azure and executing cloud deployments • Hands-on technical background including a minimum of 3 years' experience working in a System Administrator, Cloud Engineer or DevOps role • Certification in the following cloud disciplines o GCP Associate Cloud Engineer or o GCP Professional Cloud Developer or o GCP Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer or higher • Deep understanding of public cloud technologies Google (Mandatory), AWS/Azure (nice to have) including SDN, VPN, CDN, cloud networking principles, IaaS resources, serverless / containers / GKE/ PaaS resources, monitoring, backup and patching strategies.

• Good understanding of Google Deployment Manager/ Resource Manager / YAML etc
• Strong understanding of general networking principles including knowledge of DNS, TCP/IP, Load balancers, IP addressing and subnetting, security concepts and Standard Network Troubleshooting
• Strong Understanding of Operating Systems (Windows or Linux) and OS administration, including Active Directory, shell scripting (Bash or PowerShell) and experience working with database technologies such as CloudSQL, Cloud Spanner, MS SQL, MySQL or PostgreSQL etc
• Practical knowledge of DevOps principals and tools such as Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, CloudBuild, configuration management, automation, software development best practices, Git, CircleCI, Jenkins, Rightscale, Terraform, Ansible etc.
