General Summary:

General Summary
The ideal candidate is highly skilled Technical Project Manager with hands-on experience in at least one technical domain and managing technology projects (e.g. software development and application infrastructure). The Technical Project Manager is responsible for driving technical projects, managing functional teams, building processes, and driving execution for Engineering IT projects under the direction of the Project Management Office (PMO).

Preferred Technical Skills – 5 years in 1 or more of the following technical domains:
• Strong understanding of end-to-end software development lifecycle: design, developing, debugging, test planning/validating, optimization, customer engagement and production support.
• Unix/Linux environments, distributed systems and/or developing large scale web applications.
• IT Infrastructure engineering/deployment and supporting product features, services, and technologies (e.g. networking, internet protocols, web technologies, and datacenter automation).
• High performance computing (HPC) optimization solution delivery that enables semiconductor product design execution. 
• Predictive modeling, and/or large-scale data analysis.
• Machine Learning applications, database technologies, Extract, Transform, Load (ETL), user interface design and full-stack development technologies, architecture to facilitate scope and effort estimation validation with functional teams. 

Project Management Skills:
• Hands-on experience in software program management or delivering software-based networking products.
• Driving technical projects using hands on experience to orchestrate technical contributors to deliver efficiently and effectively. 
• Clarifying objectives with IT Sponsor and project team to ensure defined project objectives are met, and gain buy-in from key stakeholders.
• Creating work breakdown structure (WBS), identifying internal/external dependencies, defining task effort and duration estimates and tracking project schedule.
• Managing project performance (e.g. scope, schedule, budget) and project reviews, documentations and weekly meetings required for project execution. 
• Contributing to process improvements, innovating project management, and increasing PMO maturity objectives (e.g. standardized tools, templates, and processes).
• Confidence to interact with senior management to concerns or issues with project execution and embrace diverse perspectives through trust and respect.

Highly Desired Technical Experience in 1 or more of the following areas:
• 5+ years’ experience with systems engineering or product development in silicon design and product lifecycles (IP, SOC and platforms). 
• 3+ years’ experience in a software engineering role and good knowledge of scalability issues and multi-tiered solutions.
• 7+ years’ experience working directly with Engineering teams. Previous experience in customer-facing and or consulting role a plus.
• 5+ years’ technical project management experience, coordinating efforts of other project managers and technical leads.
• Analytical skills to prioritize mission-critical work activities and communicate priorities to others, remove roadblocks that threaten to derail progress, and make timely and difficult decisions about tradeoffs with incomplete information.

Highly Desired Technical Project Management Experience
• Enabling IT solutions for large scale software development, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline enablement. 
• Defining system and/or process requirements, building, integrating and or delivering large-scale IT systems, infrastructure, and software/cloud applications.
• Working with diverse, cross-functional teams composed of both technical and non-technical members of IT and Business organization. 
• Developing/publishing metrics, dashboards and performing analyses of critical path activities.
• Communicating effectively, both spoken and written for technical and business audiences. Ability to author key technical documents shared with partner teams and senior leadership.
• Analytical ability identifying risks at the project and team level. Engaging stakeholders and senior management for risk mitigation or escalation.
• Ability to exercise technical judgment in solving engineering challenges involving problem decomposition, bug triage, dependency analysis, continuous integration, etc.
• Agile/Scrum processes and hybrid-application of multiple project management methodologies. 
• Creativity and innovation to solve problems and leverage new technology to effectively meet business needs.
• PMP and Agile/Scrum Master Certification.
Additional Information
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
o    Creates and promotes project vision and objectives within project team, ensures defined project objectives are met, presents project vision to management, and gains buy-in from stakeholders.
o    Determines appropriate project management methodology for defined projects. Synthesizes, and represents complex information into clear, refined messages, and tracks and drives complex issues into detailed Plan of Record (POR).
o    Identifies work breakdown structure (WBS), task dependencies, identifies and assigns specific resources, communicates expectations to project team, obtains task effort and duration estimates and creates/tracks project schedule.
o    Establishes cadence of communication with concise summaries of plans, status, and risk/issue mitigation plans. Reporting and escalating to management with core stakeholders, management, and executives.
o    Manages performance (e.g., scope, schedule, budget, and quality) for complex projects, developing/publishing metrics, dashboards and performing analyses of critical path activities. Supports compliance with defined project lifecycle standards and best practices.
o    Demonstrates advanced understanding of technical concepts, architecture, systems, development methods, disciplines associated with defined projects and utilizes knowledge to accelerate project completion.
o    Identifies and manages training plans, quality reviews, documentations and weekly meetings required for project execution. Developing process improvements to meet stakeholder needs and PMO maturity objectives (e.g. standardized tools, templates, and processes).

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4+ years of Project Management-relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree.
OR
6+ years of Project Management-relevant work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.
