The Data and Common Services (DCS) team within the Yahoo Advertising Engineering organization is responsible for the Advertising core data infrastructure and services that provide common, horizontal services for user and contextual targeting, privacy and analytics. We are responsible for providing fast, clean, reliable, and relevant data for Yahoo’s advertising businesses as well as key measurements and insights about Yahoo users.  We are developing next generation technologies to enrich our advertiser and user experience through complex, scalable data platforms, with ever growing and interesting challenges.

We are actively seeking candidates located in Hyderabad for this position.

Responsibilities include:

• Build highly scalable, high-performance and stable advertising experience

• Work closely with product managers to understand the business requirements, translate them into design and implementation approaches, and rapidly drive convergence towards the best solution

• Engineer the full product lifecycle, from concept, design, through maintenance, handling prioritization and trade-offs across functional domains

• Hands-on coding: Develop and maintain high quality code base, consistently delivering ambitious, stable, and maintainable projects on schedule

• Work with user experience designers and engineering team

• Participate in understanding customer's feedback and fix issues reported by customers

• Embrace and improve standard methodologies to develop rapid ways of software development and prototyping

• Maintain coding and documentation standards, participate in code reviews

• Mentor and provide technical leadership for junior engineers

• Automate deployments using CI/CD pipelines

• Understand various pieces of technology used at Yahoo and evaluate new technologies

• Provide regular updates to management on project status

Job requirements:

• 8+ years of industry experience as a Frontend engineer or in a similar role

• Frontend technologies like HTML5, CSS3, Javascript and open-source frameworks like Emberjs, Reactjs or Angularjs and related libraries

• Working knowledge of web performance and optimization techniques

• Frontend package managers such as npm, bower, yarn, webpack etc

• Server-side technologies that involve Node.js and libraries such as Express.js,

• Other scripting languages such as PHP, Perl and Shell script

• Cloud infrastructure like AWS and Kubernetes containers

• Knowledge of cross browser compatibility issues and web security

• Testing frameworks such as Mocha, Selenium, qunit and test runners like testem

• Continuous delivery and continuous integration tools such as Screwdriver, Jenkins, etc

• Must have good object-oriented programming, design and debugging skills

• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and analytical and problem solving skills

• Excellent team player with strong collaboration skills

• Should have a strong sense of commitment and responsibility

• Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
