Why this job matters The purpose of the Technical Delivery Associate is to manage the introduction of new components or features including physical and logical functionality such as platform upgrade from a delivery perspective. Uses technical knowledge and operational understanding to identify and deliver improvements in service availability through end to end business ownership. In addition to technology introduction responsibilities the incumbent will be required to assist in faulting more complex issues
 
 
 
 
 
  What I'll be doing – your accountabilities Skills required for the job

  • You will manage orders to meet agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as On Time Delivery and Right First Time measures
  • You will manage suppliers and field engineering teams on the delivery of global forced closures and migrations ensuring that all activities meet Global Networks Engineering Standards guidelines
  • You will proactively prevent problems by acting before they occur, managing the overall status of your workstack, owning, addressing and escalating issues impacting the delivery of your orders
  • You will consider any opportunities for CI by taking ownership, identifying possible solutions & driving them through to successful implementation including capturing business benefits.
  • You will take a lead role for specific project deployment that may involve co-ordinating the activities of other delivery engineers within the team and reporting the overall project progress to key stakeholders
 
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a IP environment.
  • Professional qualification/accreditation i.e. CCNA

  • Knowledge and understanding of BT's Global networks and technologies - MANDATORY
  • Knowledge of Global Network Suppliers – E.G. Cisco, Juniper, Ericsson, Ciena, Huawei, Nortel - MANDATORY
  • Good Communication with Internal and External Stakeholders - MANDATORY
  • Project management skills/experience - PREFERRED
  • Experience of a process driven work-flow environment. - PREFERRED
  • Good knowledge of networks/infrastructure and related network management, products and services - MANDATORY
Key decisions
  • Make decisions at a technical delivery level
  • Manage/determine escalation process for project milestones
  • Provide options on recovery of the technical delivery as well as other options including re-planning/rescheduling.
