Job Purpose Statement: The Program Manager-IT systems will be the key and strategic interface between IT and the Business. The primary responsibility is to understand the key business drivers, provide proactive support and add IT value in the alignment and delivery of the business strategy, objectives through integrated solutions on Store Systems (Point of Sale and Customer Loyalty systems), mobility & e-commerce solutions and any other systems at the Corporate level.This pivotal role aims to accelerate the understanding of business processed and IT resources that support these services and processes. This understanding will deliver business benefits, improve business agility & service, reduce risk and ensure regulatory compliance so that costs are reduced. Job Responsibilities:

  • Work in partnership with business to drive key change programs to improve system process to make them simpler, cheaper and better.
  • Bring in best practices from industry and help analyzing the same for business to implement and benefit further
  • Take responsibility for implementation programs or system upgrade initiatives and ensure they are delivered within schedule, cost and quality
  • Work in partnership with the business units to fully understand the key business drivers, processes and needs of current challenges as well as future strategic initiatives and objectives
    • Interpreting business unit plans to develop with IT, supporting strategies for expansion for better solutions on areas relating to store systems, loyalty programs, mobility solutions and stores.
    • Ensure all business projects are designed and delivered in line with business requirements and priorities
    • Liaise closely with the IT Leadership Team to align IT to business process
  • Collaborate with IT and the business, utilizing business intelligence and analysis to integrate technology differentiators into the business and Program planning cycle.
    • Acquiring a full understanding of the business areas and processes being supported by IT
    • Identification of expansion initiatives and building IT capability to support the growth
    • Align IT with the business and IT strategic partners by bridging the communication gap
  • Provide a strategic IT perspective regarding business operations, growth and planning
    • Bringing a high level of professional IT expertise to strategic technology issues, gaining respect amongst the senior management teams.
    • Demonstrate awareness of IT objectives and strategy when implementing initiatives.
    • Ensure all projects are justified as value for money.
    • Monitor projects to ensure they deliver business improvement and are aligned with business unit and organizational objectives
  • Fully participate in wider business projects with an IT focus.
    • Provide the IT contribution to projects, identifying interdependencies and synergies which have a technology impact, and influencing the decisions made.
  • Work proactively and in partnership with IT strategic partners to ensure that operational support is focused to achieve business as usual efficiency
Ensuring business operates effectively as a result of a transparent process for resolution of incidents and problems.


Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Ability to build personal credibility by demonstrating the organization's values, building trust with partners in the organization and proactively contributing to organizational success
  • Experience of acting as a change agent, working proactively to make organizational change happen.
  • Experience of coaching and consulting at a senior level, underpinned by a collaborative and supportive style of working.
  • Proven, project/Program management skills and experience
  • Knowledge of the spectrum of possible IT interventions and experience of delivering improved business results mainly in Store systems, loyalty program, wireless and mobility solutions and e-commerce.
  • Experience of getting to know and understand the business and to identify how IT can best contribute to its success.
  • Strong customer focus and proven ability to build productive relationships at all levels of the organization.
