The role is for a full stack developer who can contribute to Global Data Center (GDC) software engineering road map which is multiyear effort. We are looking for talented and energetic Java/Python developers to help design and implement the new generation of our Global Datacenter tool sets which is integral to large parts of our cloud and technology infrastructure, used by thousands of users across our engineering organization.  The role will allow gain an understanding of the firm’s technology infrastructure and cloud offerings and inventorying the IT physical and logical assets in the central inventory system. The successful candidate will participate in all phases of a project life cycle and work with extremely bright and motivated individuals, who focus on Java/Python development and strive for continuous process improvement. The candidate  is proficient developer with strong software engineering skills, he has worked on modern software frameworks and has strong analytical capability. He/She is also very flexible on the technology, which is critical because GDC has a myriad of technology used. In specific the candidate will 

  • Collaborate with Inventory Management team to successfully on-board GDC managed inventories to central inventory platform and uplift their provisioning systems.
  • Getting involved in designing the data structures of the inventories and models to be managed in inventory system which allows reporting and critical analytics to applied on it.
  • Implementing systems/tools/agents which are capable of discovering assets in the datacenter / workspace with accuracy in day to day basis and reconcile with the managed inventories.
  • Experience in Big data solutions to build robust data pipelines that transform and load data into these systems.
  • Design and implement mid to large scale systems management software to automate existing tasks, streamline operations and improve productivity.
  • Participate in design, build out, and maintenance of a distributed, multi-region, scalable, resilient, and firmwide compute and other infrastructure provisioning and inventory systems.
  • Developers are responsible for deploying software solutions and ensuring their smooth operation. They configure servers, manage databases, and monitor application performance. They also address maintenance tasks, bug fixes, and performance optimization as needed.
  • Interact with other engineering teams to understand technology offerings and how they can be applied and leveraged as part of our solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Hands-on Java/Python developer, with a solid grasp of development and testing best practices 
  • Strong technical skills, analytical mindset, creative, enjoys the challenge of solving interesting and sometimes difficult technical problems.
  • Experience with popular Python frameworks such as Django, Flask or Pyramid.
  • Experience with or knowledge of distributed NoSQL data stores such as MongoDB or ElasticSearch
  • Debugging codes when required and troubleshooting any Python-related queries.
  • Team player, eager to work in a global organization
  • Commercially focused; seeks to understand the requirements and how they will benefit our clients, stakeholders, and business

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science 
  • Experience with designing and building high-throughput, scalable, resilient systems
  • Experience with Mongo,DB2,graph databases and frameworks is a plus
  • Experience with building RESTful web services with Java/Python.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
