What you need to know about the role:

The primary role of the Information Security Engineer on the Control Lifecycle Management Team is to build automated control tests to enhance our testing model moving from a manual to an automated structure. Automated test will help increase the scope and coverage of testing which will enhance our risk posture.

The Control Lifecycle Management (CLM) Team is responsible for managing the lifecycle of technology controls. Some activities that we support are control creation, ingestion, testing, attestation, Issue identification, and remediation support. Our technology control library is leveraged across all lines of defence for regulatory, compliance, risk assessment, and risk posture purposes.

This is an opportunity to be a technical leader within the Pricing Team and PayPal in general. You will work closely with control owners and business functions to create optimal automated testing solutions to increase scope and coverage of testing. You will get an opportunity to work within the Cybersecurity organization supporting a variety of functional areas within the technology landscape.

Your day to day:

In your day-to-day role, you will:

  • Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts to evaluate the effectiveness of security controls across various systems and applications

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify security control requirements, design testing scenarios, and implement manual and automated solutions to validate these controls

  • Utilize Python and Bash scripting to automate security tests, data collection, and reporting processes

What do you need to bring:

  • 2+ years relevant professional experience including risk, compliance and/or audit, security engineer, or software engineer

  • Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting for developing automation scripts and tools

  • Experience with Power Automate, Power BI or similar data visualization tools for creating interactive and informative dashboards

  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS and GCP, and ability to automate security controls within these environments

  • Understanding of security principles, threat landscapes, and vulnerabilities
