Key Purpose of the Role:

We are looking for a strong and experienced individual who is self-motivated as well as able to mentor/guide other team members. The individual will have to perform design and development of functionalities and provide assistance in meeting business objectives, solving business problems and furthering business success by applying industry, applications and technical knowledge.
The role holder need to possess good hands on technical expertise and design/development/ implementation experience in building large scale enterprise applications.

Principal Responsibilities:

Responsibilities
  • Experience in designing & development in Core Java/JS/Oracle technologies and lead from an Engineering point of view.
  • To analyze problems and propose solutions with high quality.
  • Good understanding of telecom OSS domain.
  • Ability to deep dive on technical areas and get the best outcome out of technically challenging situations.
  • Possess good hands-on experience and be able to mentor technical teams.
  • Understand need of multiple projects and communicate them divisionally and/or cross-divisionally
  • Adopt new and emerging technologies to provide solutions to meet challenging needs .
  • Ability to debug complex issues and provide the right solution
  • Ability to drive and validate technical and functional designs and lead to implementation.
  • May involve liaising with internal, external and third-party suppliers.


Person Specification:
Essential Skills (Skills without which the person cannot perform the role, limit to a maximum of four skills only)
  • Hands-on coding ability and strong analytical skills to trouble shoot and provide technological solutions using Java/J2EE, design Patterns, Oracle, PLSQL, Weblogic and Javascript, BPM/Workflow.
  • Should possess good telecom OSS knowledge in areas like Planning, Inventory management, capacity management, orchestration, and Activation.
  • Working knowledge of performance tuning of application and continuous integration techniques.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Overall Skills and Experience (Include skills that in addition to the essential skills are required for the person to perform the role in a better way )
  • Experience in working with technically complex deliveries.
  • Experience developing and designing Enterprise Application development Projects from an Engineering perspective
  • Self-starter who can lead the way by setting up prototypes for technical teams to follow.
  • Contribute to the definition of the team processes and standards.
  • In depth understanding of Telecom product offering, Physical & Logical Inventory.


Qualifications

Essential
  • Possess B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Possess typically 5-7 years of previous software engineering or related experience.
  • Strong Java/J2EE, Oracle, Database skills, UI design skills, JS skills, Linux scripting and troubleshooting skills.
  • Provide technical and functional guidance and direction to team members
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills


Desirable
  • Working with large Telco service providers is a plus
  • Telecom certifications
  • Java/Oracle certifications
  • Experience in working with geographically dispersed teams
