Job title: Safety Officer/ Asst EHS

Job function and sub function: EHS

Position summary: This role is responsible for handling various EHS activities to ensure hazard free/accident free workplace and overall safety compliances in the plant.

Reports to (role): Head EHS

Team size (Direct and total): 3

Works closely with: Rings & Piston Leadership Team

Location: Patiala

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe and healthy environment in the plant to make it a zero accident plant
  • Coordinator for ISO  14001 & 45001 system implementation.
  • Accountability for conducting HIRA and implementing action plan for 100 % hazard identified
  • Ensuring usage of proper & good quality PPE at workplace to avoid injury
  • Employees health checkups, maintaining adequate first aid boxes in the plant.
  • Conducting safety activities – Audits, accident analysis, safety committee meetings and EHS related works, Operational Audit of Environmental facilities(ETP,STP etc).
  • Ensuring compliance related to Environment, health & Safety
  • Conducting safety Awareness & Events. Organizing trainings & awareness to reduce the injuries & incidents.
  • Onsite Emergency preparedness planning & conducting regular mock drill
  • Operation and maintenance of Fire Pump house, Fire Hydrant System, Fire Extinguishers , Fire Detection etc. Fire Prevention Activities
  • Testing of pressure vessels & lifting equipment’s
  • Ensure Contractors & visitor safety
  • Implementation & adherence of work permit system.
  • Coordinate & conduct HSE related audits & ensure NC closer.
  • Work Env. Monitoring.

Ideal candidate experience:

  • Minimum five years’ experience in manufacturing industry + Automobile preferred

Skills and capabilities (leadership and/or functional):

  • Interpersonal communication
  • MS office & Powerpoint

Qualifications/ certifications:

  • BE, PDIS for Regional Labour Institute
