What you’ll be doing...

Value segment is about multi brands prepaid segment handles projects related Prepaid sales and service experience with the order management in Verizon Consumer Group. The work you'll be doing will support Operations and DevOps for the multiple business-critical needs for Value segment Organization.  We are looking for a self-motivated Ops Manager who has excellent experience in managing the team of operations and demonstrated knowledge and interest in Node.js, GCP / AWS Cloud, Kafka, Cassandra Database, CICD, and Enterprise Application Software.


Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review. Identify, design, and implement process improvements: automate manual processes, redesign infrastructure for greater scalabilities. Guide the delivery of services all the way to production. Manage application dependencies. Work with QA team to develop and maintain regression and unit testing platform

Developing needs of project communication plans and reports for upper management and stakeholder information. Providing technical information and guidance on operations; resolves operational-related issues. Preparing timely executive reports and run various executive presentations.

Coordinating with all internal and external stakeholders working on projects. Focusing on Employee engagement programs and training and also keeping the team motivated to work towards the standard and healthy work practices.

Leading and developing high-performing teams, supporting Agile working practices with a diversified cultural workforce

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of extensive experience in Node.js, GCP, AWS Cloud, Kafka, Cassandra Database, CICD, Enterprise Application Software and Containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, LXC, Rocket).

  • Experience in telecom systems and knowledge of their architectures, technologies, terminology, and implementations.

  • Experience in managing the team and compliance for the Dev-Ops responsibilities of lower environment deployments and production

  • Working with Application Operations, platform architects and the product group to understand business and technical needs and converting them into high quality software implemented in production systems

  • Provide post implementation support in production environment, following up with any reported issues to resolution

  • Hands on experience with make, ant, scons and good understanding of modern source control tools such as Git or Perforce and associated methodologies

  • Must have experience with basic infrastructure services like ldap, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory

  • Eight or more years of experience in product development, Operations and DevOps

  • Responsible for being the main contact person for any outages reported by team or business and providing the timely updates.

  • Experience in creating the initial outage bridge, and contacting the necessary resources to investigate / resolve the issue. Coordinating with the team for the required investigation, diagnosis, recovery and resolution actions

  • Experience in working with the other teams and formulates a recovery plan

  • Experience in setting up health checks, dashboards and monitoring on Splunk (or elsewhere)

  • Handling production issues escalated from care; opening & managing zendesk tickets with the vendor as needed.



Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Ability to influence a large team or multiple teams to achieve their goals by work prioritization, planning and task delegation.

  • Experience in leading teams of design/architects of OSS/BSS applications.

  • Experience in handling talent transformations for the team members.

  • Experience in translating customer experience issues into actionable objectives to the team and executing plans to resolve them.

  • Knowledge of operationalizing processes, quality control checks.

  • Knowledge of deriving metrics from various business processes and summarizing for executive presentations.

  • Experience in tying metrics with business requirements and looking at customer experience.

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.

  • Experience in automating the software development life cycle activities including the development regression testing processes.
