POSITION DETAILS
Position Summary
This role, under the direction of the Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer, will be supporting the Supply Chain function of six global locations to develop and manage the supply base for various commodities (Machining, FHRP, Forgings, Actuators & Electronics). This is to be accomplished through supplier selection risk assessments, sample part development projects, managing supplier quality and delivery performance, and assisting with supplier improvement programs.
Principal Activities
Support the Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer and the Sr. Commodity Specialist to achieve team deliverables which include:
- Manage supplier quality & performance improvement activities per CIRCOR & ISO standard processes
- Support Sourcing function with the supplier approval process by assessing manufacturing/technology capabilities and Health, Safety and Business risks.
- Support New Product launch, Supplier transitions & Engineering change management processes.
- Drive sample developments process with SQE team and ensure suppliers are held accountable for meeting customer, drawing and specification requirements – First Article & Production Approvals.
- Work to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply
- Monitor, communicate and improve key sourcing / SCM KPI’s, including Supplier NC, OTD, DPPM and Improvements
- Work with Sourcing function to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and that appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented
- Review and evaluate supplier quality & performance data to identify process improvement opportunities
- Maintain and update critical supplier audit system and schedule, Conduct supplier audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement
- Drive problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers to eliminate recurrence of non‐conformances
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non‐conformities relating to product, process, and quality systems
- Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities
- Drive supplier performance improvement projects to increase the supplier capability of consistently meeting CIRCOR requirements. Projects may include process analysis, value stream mapping, process capability and throughput analysis, 6‐Sigma, 5S and Kaizen events
- Drive “Zero Defect” mentality within the supply base
- Train suppliers on best practices, CIRCOR training module like problem solving and Quality Clinic System
- Work with internal customers (Business Units) – Quality, Engineering and Supply chain team to support sourcing transition projects and drive supplier improvement
- Establish a strong network and foster collaboration with suppliers, key stakeholders, sites, and category team members.
- Actively manage suppliers to ensure there are no regressions with the implementation of new processes
- Key metrics include: First Article Approvals, Supplier Quality – DPPM, Supplier OTD (project and production), Supplier performance metrics improvements, and support sourcing team metrics and projects.
