Mainframe Development Senior

Job Description:

• The role of the DDS Senior Software Engineer involves being a Mainframe software engineer within the Dealer Data Services (DDS) product team, under the Dealer Network & Employee Engagement (DNEE) Product Line.
• This team oversees a range of applications and services aimed at providing top-notch data solutions within the Dealer Network domain.
• The required skills for this role include proficiency in Cobol, JCL, DB2 for Z/OS, CA7, IBM Data Studio, ISPF, Endevor, IBM File Manager, and SPUFI

 

Skills Required:

• Conceptualize, design, and implement new features using the following technologies, tools: Cobol, JCL, DB2 for Z/OS, CA7, IBM Data Studio, ISPF, Endevor, IBM File Manager, SPUFI.
• Extensive experience in resolving errors (abends) as part of production support.
• Proficient in coding, testing, and deploying Cobol, DB2 programs from scratch using JCL.
• Expertise in development and production support tasks
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices
• Foster collaboration and clear communication with Product Managers, Product Owners, Anchor, Software engineers as well as Business Customers throughout the development and support of application features
• Engage in technical design, coding and testing, support, and documentation of software application modifications.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality code through strict standards, continuous integration, development, and testing.
• Develop test plans, execute them, and facilitate deployments/releases.
• Contribute as a key member of a product team to engineer the design, development, and coding of intricate solutions to support business needs
• Create processes and automate, as applicable, to rollout features and capabilities while minimizing inefficiencies.
• Lead Team with technical vision while collaborating with team members to understand the data and assist in resolving complex issues.

 

Skills Preferred:

• Proficient in Agile methodology for software development, testing, and deployment.
• Skilled in making API calls through Z/OS.
• Demonstrates strong organizational abilities to facilitate audit and documentation tasks.
• Exhibits excellent communication – speak up as needed.
• Capable of working both in teams and independently.
• Self-driven and motivated.
• Embraces a mindset of continuous learning.
• Passionate about the field and dedicated to ongoing enhancement.
• Able to work autonomously with minimal oversight.

 

Experience Required:

• 8 to 10 years in Cobol, JCL, DB2

 

Education Required:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering
