Tableau Developer
Job Description
We are looking for a Tableau Consultant who would be responsible for end-to-end design, development and delivery of effective dashboards and visualizations and possess good client handling experience with good communication and analytical skills.
Broad Responsibilities
Tableau Modeling & Data Visualization:
- 4+ years' experience in Tableau development
- Understand fundamentals of data preparation / data modelling, necessary for the visualization purpose; end- to-end Model Designer expertise from dashboard design / development to deployment / maintenance
- Capture reporting requirements from various partners, solution, understand / analyze the source data
- Understand and synthesize complex data into executive summaries. Understanding operational metrics and key performance indicators used in making business decisions.
- Possesses strong sense around UI functionality & aesthetics, expertise in crafting intuitive and interactive reports and dashboards using Tableau for data driven decisions
- Coming up with solutions with strategies around data source design, live vs extracts, on-the-fly aggregation vs aggregation at source etc.
Tableau Development:
- Knowledge on connecting to multiple data sources through Tableau is required (RDBMS, JSON, CSV etc)
- Comprehensive knowledge of basic & advance level concepts and reporting including LOD functions, Data Blending, Row-level security implementation, Drill down reports, Worksheet and Dashboard actions, Stories, Complex calculated fields
- A solid understanding of SQL, relational databases and data modeling for reporting & efficient data analysis
- Knowledge on publishing and sharing the dashboards, scheduling data refreshes
- Performance Monitoring (various Tableau consoles), fine-tuning and optimization of dashboards
- Experience on creating user groups, and scheduled instances for reports in Tableau.
- Participate in defining best practices around development, testing, access & refresh scheduling.
- Responsible for (extract) query performance tuning in order to troubleshoot issues with dashboard
- Experience on any ETL tool / shell scripting / Cloud stack is a plus
