What you need to know about the role-
As a Business Testing Analyst, you will be responsible for performing risk and compliance testing to ensure that we implement the appropriate controls, monitoring and reporting to satisfy our obligations to the appropriate regulatory authorities internally/externally and meet the demands of our customers. This position will be primarily responsible for planning, executing and reporting testing engagements and partnering with Subject Matter Experts and other testing teams to ensure that second line of defense testing is completed in an effective, efficient, and timely manner. Strong audit testing experience is required.

The Second Line Testing Program serves as an independent oversight function responsible for evaluating and validating the effectiveness of controls and processes established by the first line of defense in managing risks across the organization. Through risk-based coverage of the enterprise, the program aims to enhance confidence in risk management practices and measure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Second Line Testing Team is responsible for performing risk and compliance testing to ensure that we implement the appropriate controls, monitoring and reporting to satisfy our obligations to the appropriate regulatory authorities internally/externally and meet the demands of our customers.

Your day to day

  • Execute and complete Second Line Testing assignments, evaluate and communicate test results, and document work papers clearly and timely.
  • Evaluate the design and effectiveness of internal controls relating to risks in accordance with our risk management methodology and the established risk assessment framework.
  • Support scoping and planning by thoroughly researching relevant topics and leading walkthrough meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to assist managers and senior managers while assuming responsibility for complex process areas.
  • Proactively develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, the business, and respective support areas; work in an integrated manner with fellow team members both locally and globally.

What do you need to bring-

  • Audit experience – Preferably in Big 4 and/or Financial Services industry.
  • Have working knowledge of scoping tests of controls, risk identification, control identification, how those fit into an overall Risk Management Framework, and various testing methodologies over controls.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to influence and work across organizational boundaries to drive complex delivery challenges.
  • Must have a strong understanding and working knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance testing design, management, and execution.
  • Strong business and technical insight, with the ability to quickly understand and communicate technical ideas and challenges across a broad audience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and presentation skills (proficient in PowerPoint, Word and Excel).
  • Ability to focus on desired results, determining what is important and urgent, clarifying next steps, and delegating effectively to meet deadlines and achieve desired results.
  • Self-starter, motivated individual who can move a project / test forward with little direction and/or guidance, willingness to ask the right questions, engage appropriate points of contact to launch tests from conception into motion.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and knowledge of multiple functions within PayPal.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and work effectively under pressure.
  • Must display a high level of professionalism, sound judgement, commitment, integrity, teamwork, and customer service.
