CPM-Product Manager, Operational Risk & Resilience Team, Senior Analyst/Associate- HYD

The Operational Risk and Resilience (ORR) team sits within the Corporate Planning and Management division. The team’s mission is to support the firm’s ‘One Goldman Sachs’ strategy by proactively identifying, managing, monitoring, and reporting key operational and third-party risks to enable and challenge the business’s risk-based decision-making processes.Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) is a function within Operational Risk and Resilience team. The Third-Party Risk Management Tooling Team is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining software tools and systems used to assess, monitor, and mitigate risks associated with third-party relationships. This includes overseeing the functionality and effectiveness of risk management tools, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies, and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance processes and workflows related to third-party risk management. The remit of the TPRM Tooling team covers all tools associated with all TPRM Programs – Non-Vendor Third Party, Vendor, Contingent Worker, Inter-affiliate Service Provision and Risk & Issue Management. This crucial role plays an integral part in designing and delivering against program transformation initiatives aimed to balance commercial drivers, risk management principles and supervisory/regulatory expectations.The role is in Hyderabad as part of the first line of defense Operational Risk & Resilience (ORR) team within the Corporate Planning and Management Division. The role requires end-end skills in data engineering, ETL, data modeling, math/logic, visualization, and continuous improvement lifecycle. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR: 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Academic Qualifications: 
    • A bachelor’s degree. Common fields of study include business administration, finance, economics, computer science, engineering, or related fields or 
    • A master’s degree in business administration (MBA), Information Systems, Risk Management etc. 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in product management/risk management/vendor management. Prior experience specifically in third party risk management is highly desirable. 
  • Functional knowledge: Strong understanding of third-party risk management processes and methodologies. Proficiency in utilizing risk management tools and platforms.
  • Product Roadmap: Demonstrated experience in product management, including defining product roadmaps, prioritizing features, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product delivery. 
  • Product Strategy: Deep understanding of market trends, use of various frameworks and approaches to capture user needs, and business goals to develop a clear product strategy aligned with the third-party risk management functional objectives.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Ability to conduct thorough market research, analyze competitors, evaluate gaps within existing tools and identify the right product for end-to-end Source to Pay process wherever required to eliminate tool proliferation. 
  • Requirements Gathering: Ability to gather and analyze requirements from stakeholders, including business users, divisional risk management teams, risk partners etc. 
  • Solution Design: Designing effective solutions to address third party risk management challenges, leveraging both technology and process improvements. 
  • User Experience (UX) Design: Understanding of UX principles and the ability to advocate for user-centric design approaches to create intuitive and engaging product experience in all TPRM tools.
  • Collaboration with Engineering: Ability to convert/share the business/function requirements into engineering/technical requirements and drive the delivery of the product features, data pipelines, automated solutions, etc. 
  • IT Infrastructure: Understanding of IT infrastructure components and technologies, including platforms, servers, databases, and cloud computing platforms, and their role in third party risk management tools. 
  • API Integration: Familiarity with API integration techniques for integrating third party risk management solutions with other enterprise systems and data sources.
  • Technical Writing: Ability to create clear and concise technical documentation, including requirements documents, product specifications, user guides, and training materials.
  • Project Management: Experience in project management, including defining project scope, managing timelines, and tracking progress against milestones. 
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: 
    • Proficiency in leveraging data analytics tools to track key product metrics, derive insights from user behavior, and make data-driven decisions to optimize product performance. 
    • Ability to interpret the context of the data, identify patterns, trends, and anomalies to identify validations and controls required in the product and fix the gaps in the point of data entry in the tools/determine product roadmap/features that captures high quality and contextual data. 
  • ETL (Extract, Transform, Load): Proficiency in designing and implementing ETL processes to extract data from source systems, transform it to understand the product and its ability to meet the functional requirements, drive product roadmap based on observations, recommend process re-engineering etc. 
  • Data Modeling: Understanding of how to design and implement data models that support third party risk management processes, including entity-relationship diagrams, dimensional modeling, and schema design.
  • Data Governance: Familiarity with data governance frameworks and practices, including data stewardship, data ownership, data lineage, and metadata management.
  • Data Quality Management: Ability to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency through data quality management processes, including data profiling, cleansing, and validation.

    Competencies: 

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in understanding and leveraging technological solutions related to risk management, such as risk assessment tools, data analytics platforms, and cybersecurity protocols.
  • Domain Knowledge: A solid understanding of third-party risk management principles, compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), and industry best practices.
  • Product Management Skills: Experience in product management, including product lifecycle management, feature prioritization, and roadmap development.
  • Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and derive actionable insights to enhance risk management strategies.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and influence decision-making.
  • Project Management Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead and execute projects effectively, manage timelines, and drive results within a dynamic environment.
  • Functional Expertise/Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Third-Party Risk Professional (CTPRP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) can be beneficial. Product Management certifications like Certified Product Manager (CPM), or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) can be helpful. 
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Proven track record of solving complex problems, mitigating risks, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance third-party risk management processes.
  • Customer Focus: A customer-centric approach to understanding user needs, gathering feedback, and continuously improving products to meet customer expectations. 
  • Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to evolving regulatory requirements, technological advancements, and organizational changes impacting third-party risk management practices.
  • Teamwork: Acts as a strong team player, collaborates with others within and across global teams, encourages other team members to participate and contribute, and acknowledges others' contributions 
  • Communication: Communicates what is relevant and important in a clear and concise manner and shares information/new ideas with others. Able to clearly articulate observations and linked recommendations
  • Judgment and Problem Solving: Thinks ahead, anticipates questions, plans for contingencies, finds alternative solutions, and identifies clear objectives. Sees the big picture and effectively analyses complex issues.
