What you’ll be doing…

Come help assure the integrity of Verizon’s strength by joining our Internal Audit department. You will deliver value added insights on risks to the business and provide independent, risk based, objective assurance and advisory services designed to enhance value to our key stakeholders (Customers, Employees, Shareholders, and Society). This role will provide you with extensive exposure to Verizon’s businesses, operations, strategy, technology, and executives.

  • Thinking critically to break down complex projects and identify risks.
  • Professionally challenging business processes to continue to strengthen internal controls and operations.
  • Applying your technical finance, business, and/or audit knowledge to manage projects.
  • Utilizing your technical knowledge to assess how Verizon-managed and/or Third Party systems/applications and associated ITGCs support processes under review.
  • Translating raw data into data insights that resolve actionable test steps and create summary reports using tools such as SQL, Teradata, Tableau, or Qlik.
  • Developing basic cybersecurity acumen in order to understand how internal and external threats may impact processes under review.
  • Bringing your collaboration skills to partner with management as an independent and trusted advisor.
  • Thinking innovatively and becoming a catalyst for change to help move Verizon forward.
  • Promoting a culture of curiosity and plan to develop into a high performing future leader at Verizon.
  • Embracing and fostering a culture of innovation, respect and inclusion.
  • Mentoring team members to ensure professional growth in leadership qualities and fact based decision making through the use of data analytics.

What we’re looking for…

You’re a phenomenal teammate who enjoys collaborating with various partners to achieve winning outcomes. You like digging into the details and coming up with recommendations that will have a huge impact.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or six or more years of work experience.
  • Experience in designing and executing financial, operational, and technology audit programs that target high-risk areas in the company’s controls, systems, and processes.
  • Experience in internal audit in a similar industry, preferably complex & regulated.
  • Experience conducting financial, operational, technology, cybersecurity, and compliance audits.
  • Experience concurrently managing multiple audits encompasses the ability to efficiently handle and prioritize a diverse range of tasks, ensuring successful project management outcomes.
  • Certification on one or more; CISA, CISSP, CA, CIA, CFE (certified or in progress).

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Experience with one or more of the following data analysis tools such as: Alteryx, Qlik, Google Data Studio, R Studio, Tableau, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Visual Basic, Microsoft.NET framework, ACL, IDEA, Microsoft Access, SQL, Microsoft Exchange, or Hyperion applications.
  • Experience performing basic data queries and executive summary data visualizations through the use of aforementioned data tools.
  • Experience performing back Information Technology General Controls testing such as logical access, physical security, change control and computer operations.
  • Capability to write clear, concise reports and presentations with a capability to verbally communicate effectively; organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to consolidate issues for management level review, develop clear written recommendations, which require minimal editing and present recommendations with management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills encompass the ability to convey thoughts, ideas, and information effectively in both spoken and written form.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
