General Summary:

The Engineering IT group manages multiple QCT Design centers worldwide and enables engineers to leverage hardware and software resources globally. As an experienced member of the EngIT group, you will be responsible for driving development and optimization efforts for EDA execution environment. This job role is responsible for Leading the Operations of the License management Systems, owning the complete operations for the capability.
# This is the License Management Team, geographically dispersed that manages engineering compute EDA Licenses, License resource management systems and technologies throughout the enterprise. 
# The team’s responsibilities include assuring global EDA License service availability, optimization, maintenance, and standardization. 
# Responsibilities include working with the grid administration team to Perform LSF and License Scheduler configuration changes in large clusters with complex configurations. # Collaborate with frontline support teams by troubleshooting and resolving Tier 3 EDA license issues related to service availability, performance, and SLA compliance. 
# Experience administering large-scale FlexLM-based license services in large semiconductor design or similar environments and deep knowledge of FlexLM licensing best practices and expertise of configuration options, capabilities, limitations, troubleshooting and performance tuning across multiple grid environments. Strong experience with splunk, analysis of large datasets, visualization of large datasets. Sound knowledge and hands on experience on Linux / Unix administration, troubleshooting & mass deployment. Exposure on Virtualization. Scripting knowledge with shell, PERL, Python. Real life automation experience. Exposure of Capacity Management for IT services. Sound idea about IT infrastructure and various related or dependent IT services.

# Escalate and participate in the troubleshooting of licensing issues that may be contributing to impaired resource management services within the compute grid Interface with other Engineering Compute teams to drive follow-through of issue impacting License managed services around the world. 
# Participate in defining and documenting processes and SOPs Assist in defining and documenting global grid environment standards 
# Improve standards compliance in all computing environments by coordinating with site teams to implement grid standards Look for opportunities for architectural improvements in the License services and provide input to the Enterprise Architecture teams. 
• Version Upgrade (Minor & Major) - Changes due to vendor provided bug-fixes, enhancements, patches and new version | Environment Integration
• Perform Integration validation with the IT Ecosystem components and the changes in Engineering tool chain/workflows to incorporate the changes for and of License Mgmt. service
o Global Standardization - Implementation of Global Standards across the sites/regions/clusters
o Performance Validation - Benchmarking the performance local to site/across sites 
• IT Instrumentation (Splunk Dashboards), Ensures implementation of operational initiatives in capability strategy
• Incident management: Management of incidents (minor and major) as part of tiered support and ensuring the stipulated SLAs are met and issues are escalated in a timely manner. Ensure appropriate process is followed for the capability and communications are sent during major incidents as defined by users effected
• Creating and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs): Creating and maintain COP documents
• Shift planning & management: Planning of daily/monthly/weekly work and shifts
• Capability request management: Fulfilling capability requests
• Business/key relationship stakeholder management: Assisting with stakeholder management as required by Capability Owner
• Resource recruitment: Recruiting and hiring necessary resources
• IT capability continuity planning: Maintaining and implementation of Continuity and Recovery Plans
• Technology refresh implementation: Managing the implementation of technology refresh plans
• Capability governance: Adhering to the procedures for operational and strategic communication, reporting, and decision-making
• Operational performance reporting: Defining and managing performance measurement metrics
• Training needs and assessment: Assist with assessing the skill gaps/training needs
• Program and project management: Contributing to managing and monitoring projects related to or impacting the capability operations
• Problem management: Identifying corrective / preventative actions and seeking approval for implementation of actions from the relevant governing body
• Root cause analysis: Analyzing, identifying, and documenting the underlying cause of an incident
• Request for change management: Assist with execution of changes as defined
• Continuous capability improvement: Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of capability quality and delivery
• Implementing minor enhancements: Managing and implementing minor changes to applications or infrastructure systems
• System/capability availability management: Ensuring availability of IT infrastructure, tools and capabilities at agreed performance levels
• Capability strategy setting: Provide input on effort estimates
• Resource planning: Provide inputs for resource planning
• Vendor selection and management: Provide inputs for RFP and vendor selection
• Budget planning and allocation: Provide inputs for budget planning process
• Delivery methodology definition: Provide input on delivery methodology
• Architecture and design standards setting: Provide input on architecture changes impact on operations
• Design and configuration: Review design documents as needed
• Build and development: Provide input to development team as needed
• Leading a team of 5 to 7 Engineers across the Geographies
• IT infrastructure - The ability to understand IT Infrastructure and its components like server configurations, OS configurations, Storage Configurations, interaction with access management infrastructure, WAN and algorithms. This includes planning technical projects in the design and development of defining and selecting new approaches and implementation of new architectures of existing License Management tools, preparing design specifications, analyses, and recommendations.  
Using verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels. May require strong negotiation and influence, communication to large groups or high-level constituents.
• Troubleshooting - Knowledge of systematic approaches to solving common technical problems (e.g., hardware, software, application, operational, process). This includes the ability to identify problems and report and escalate problems according to established procedures. This also includes the ability to identify available resources for troubleshooting.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
• 8+ years of work experience in EDA workflow development/deployment/debug
• Debug license related issues and provide resolution working with IT/CAD. Responsible for exploring and driving CAD-Infrastructure upgradation if any from IT, new feature testing and deployment. 
• Hands-on experience administering EDA licenses in large semiconductor design environments. 
• Proficiency in Perl and shell programming & debugging in UNIX/Linux environments Familiarity with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and the semiconductor design process  
• Experience developing solutions for complex computing resource management requirements Ability to leverage License usage and grid performance metrics for troubleshooting and optimizing computing environments 
• Deep knowledge of Grid best practices and expertise of configuration options, capabilities, limitations, troubleshooting and performance tuning Thorough understanding and practical knowledge of high-performance computing environments and distributed resource management concepts and solutions, particularly within the EDA space Experience with formal Change Management processes preferred Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural collaboration skills Good communication with superb verbal, written, and presentation skills Required to work to a high standard, be self-motivated and work well in a team
