Desktop Support Engineer

eTeam Inc. Pune, Maharashtra (Onsite) Full-Time
Designation: Desktop Support Engineer
Function: IT
Reporting to:
Academics: UG / PG (Any Stream)
Role:

To take care all desktops related activities such Desktops, laptops, MAC's, and other mobile devices. Working closely with the Server team and network team. Trouble shooting all OS related issues in all computer systems, hardware and software maintenance and upgrades, responsible for desktops/laptops performance, LAN/Wi-Fi related issues in systems, troubleshooting printers, , scanners and all other peripheral devices, scheduling firmware, OS patch updates, Anti-virus updates. Monitoring and remediating the issues with quick turnaround time.
 
Job Description:
  • Should have good understanding of Windows all versions (preferably 7, 10, 2012 and 2016) 
  • Should have decent knowledge in Linux, MAC and other operating systems.
  • Should have good understanding of cloud technologies (AWS & Azure)
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Should be able to install/uninstall typical applications and troubleshoot the issue for abnormal behaviour.
  • Expertise in trouble shooting domain related issues.
  • Skill set in set up accounts and workstations, monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
  • Should be able to install/uninstallroubleshoot printers, scanners and other peripheral devices.
  • Should have decent knowledge in administering Active Directory.  
  • Should have idea of group policies and replication.
  • Should be expert in understanding registry values.
  • Good understanding of Anti-Virus software, patch management, upgrade systems with new releases and models. Etc
  • Decent knowledge of networks and IP address management.
  • Should have knowledge of hardware component and should be able to diagnose the hardware component failure.
  • Maintain inventory of PC/Laptops/Servers and Software.
  • Should understand the software licensing policy and avoid unauthorized distribution of software.                                    
  • Good knowledge in software/hardware RAID configuration.
  • Should be able to communicate well both verbal and written
 
Competencies:
  • 5+ years of experience in Desktop administration
  • Strong experience in working with client-domain environment.
  • Certification in MCP, RHCE (optional)
  • Bachelor's degree, advanced degree preferred
  • Experience in software product development companies.
  • Recognise the importance of organizational priorities.
  • Skill to take on a variety of tasks and pay attention to detail
  • Teamwork skills and the ability to feel comfortable working with different teams, clients and groups of staff across an organisation.
