Job Summary:
The Business Analyst role is responsible for documenting and communicating the detailed business requirements for
development projects. This role analyses the project vision and stakeholder needs and gains agreements on key business
requirements from all stakeholders. This role is responsible for the delivery of the
requirements and ensuring that the solutions developed meet stakeholder objectives to desired quality standards.
This role is responsible for managing the requirements process to ensure that the feature scope maps to the original
requirements. In addition, the Business Analyst analyses requested changes and details the change requirements and
seeks necessary approvals.
Key Responsibility Areas:
Requirements Elicitation, Understanding, Analysis, & Management
Analysis
• Understand the business issues and data challenges of client organization and industry.
• Identify and analyze information related to existing client systems.
• Define and document the qualitative and/or quantitative assessment of client current state.
• Complete detailed business analysis on service modules and units to ensure consistency with client requirements.
Scoping & Vision
• Ensure that the scope matches the original requirements.
Requirements Gathering, Documentation, & Analysis
• Work with the business resources, Senior Business Analyst, and Delivery Manager to understand the product vision and
direction.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews.
• Lead client requirement meetings to elicit and understand the client's needs/requirements.
• Document the requirements for the project.
• Review client requirements and perform gap and/or impact analysis.
• Review and validate client requirements based on domain knowledge/expertise and understanding of the client's
business process and challenges.
• Understand business requirements to convert them into product/system specifications that fully represent the client
requirements and the project requirements.
• Define system and software requirements (performance, reliability, reusability, extensibility etc).
• Draft complex client proposals and submit to Sr. Business Analyst for review and refinement.
• Develop and update applicable requirements artifiacts
• May participate in scoping discussions.
Design, Development, & Testing
• Transfer the business need and requirements to the development team through deployment.
• Act as a resource throughout the life of a project to the Development Team to clarify the requirements, and manage any
requirement changes resulting from development issues or business issues.
• Contribute to the system configuration and integration testing.
• Review and sign off on testing artifacts that will be used for quality and acceptance testing and be available for questions
throughout the process.
Project Planning, Tracking, & Reporting
• Participate in project review meetings.
• Participate in key client meetings.
Process Management
• Adhere to the Business Analysis model.
• Participate in root cause analysis.
• Assist with the creation of metrics to measure process and performance improvements.
• Analyze the ongoing process to identify process improvement opportunities.
• Identify root causes of delivery issues (e.g., system edits, manual processes, patterns in workflows, repeat calls etc.)
• Recommend process improvements and identify opportunities to define/follow standard operating procedures.
Coaching
• Coach Process/Business Analysts on:
• Defining the project vision and eliciting high-level requirements
• Good facilitation and needs analysis skills to hold effective stakeholder interviews/workshops
• Developing Use Cases, reviewing test plans and test cases
• Act as an expert resource to internal teams on system functionality and approach, including solving systems operations
issues, and performance initiatives.
• Provide subject matter expertise to client, client team, shared services, and supporting services.
 
Qualifications
Formal Education & Certification:
 
  • Bachelor/Masters Degree in Engineering or Computer Applications.
  •  PeopleSoft knowledge and HRMS domain (WFA,CoreHR, NA Payroll)  is required
  • Computer application certifications, as applicable.
  • Knowledge & Experience:
  • 5+ years of industry experience within the specific domain/service area including:
  • Experience gathering requirements via workshops and interviews and delivering the requirements documents.
  • Experience creating use cases
  • Experience working with a standard development process (e.g., Rational)
  • Experience with process reengineering (process decomposition)
  • PeopleSoft knowledge(3+ yrs atleast)
  • HRMS domain knowledge in Core HR, WFA, NA Payroll
 
Work Conditions:
• Mandatory overlap of 4 hrs with US..
• Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.
• Sitting for extended periods of time.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components.
• Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
• Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
• Some travel may be required for the purpose of onsite/offsite software and system development management.
