DIRECT REPORTING: Director of A&D Global Supply Chain

POSITION DETAILS

Position Summary

This role will be critical in supporting the execution and management of direct sourcing strategies for the Circor Global Aerospace and Defense Business. This position, under the direction of the Sr. Commodity Specialist, will be supporting the Supply Chain function of six global locations through the sourcing of direct materials such as machined components, raw materials, castings, forgings & sub-assemblies across multiple global regions.

Principal Activities

Support the Sr. Commodity Specialist and Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer to achieve team deliverables which include:

  • Rapid deployment of sourcing initiatives in growing business units.
  • Drive product/part localization.
  • Competitively bid, negotiate agreements, prices & price inflation mitigation.
  • Participate in selection and deselection of suppliers
  • Support the supplier approval process.
  • Management of agreed supplier relationships in designated direct categories.
  • Management of sourcing projects, contracts, and programs with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Drive internal and external Requests for Quotations
  • Active and continuous communication of sourcing projects, programs, and sourcing policies
  • Drive focus and execution of key supply base metrics: annual cost savings, supplier OTD (project and production), supply base rationalization, reduce supplier lead time for development, and contract penetration.
  • Understand, monitor, and report current commodity market conditions/trends, developing technologies, supply chain capacity/ capability, product knowledge, customer requirements and supply/demand challenges and manage risk in the supply chain pro-actively.
  • Support activities of the team for successful delivery of First Article parts. This will include communication & collaboration with supplier personnel and across internal Circor engineering, design, and quality functions.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong work ethic, trustworthy, resilient, demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles
  • Excellent English communication skills and experience of using different communication channels and methods across different cultures and global regions.
  • Analytical & problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge and experience in any of the following commodities: machined components, electronical components, raw materials, castings, forgings, sub-assemblies.
  • Basis knowledge of AS9100 standards is preferred
  • Ability to travel overseas with the team if needed.
  • Excellent skills & experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with PowerBi is a plus

Education & Experience

  • E / Diploma – Mechanical / Electrical / Production / Industrial (or equivalent)
  • Experience and work history in any of the following functions: Engineering / Sourcing / Supply Chain / Quality
