About This Role

The purpose of this role is to be a technical design authority for system designs within Order management stack within Digital Tech arm of BT Openreach. The role understands the wider impacts of the components and their underlying design. This role provides the technical direction for an individual design e.g. individual stories. The role holder will validate and challenge design changes which are linked to the business demands. This role also needs to be technically enabled to be able to drive digital transformation within the unit.

You'll have the Following Responsibilities

• Capture business requirements by working with key business stakeholders and ensure that these requirements are translated into high quality technical solutions that are delivered to agreed dates.
• Promptly resolve any issues related to designs and provide a technical steer as required.
• Provide input into product development and roadmaps as appropriate.
• Provide RoM costs against requirements, running Feasibility Studies or RIAs if required.
• Ensure that designs adhere to architectural principles and policies Contribute to innovation and transformation within the design space.
• Ensure that solution(s) offer minimum delivery and operational risk and lifetime total cost of ownership (TCO)
• Ensure that all aspects of a solution are addressed spanning networks, systems and process.
• Develop transformation designs to drive Digital transformation within the unit with Digital skills
• Provide in-life support for issues on the solution, root cause analysis for issues in relation to their designs.
• Ensuring E2E non-functionable impacts are accounted for in the design of solutions (component (including manageability, support, volumetric & security aspects)
• Review work on multiple stories in a release e.g. work on billing element within a release / service monitoring or other domains Challenge requirements if they are not clear. Review detailed STORM stories
• Understand the requirements that need to be met in the design. Cost - Driving efficiency and cost reduction through defining brilliant and simple requirements to the supplier and other BT systems Quality - Ensuring rigorous, scalable and highly available solutions to underpin the OSS stack to support VoIP services.

You'll have the Following Skills & Experience Business analysis

• Requirements management and estimating ability to complete complex designs
• Provide technical leadership for groups of designs
• Guiding on cost optimised technical solutions to meet customer requirements.
• Understanding of business process journeys (L2C, T2R, P&B)
• Test driven design: Understanding of agile methodology. ITIL/ETOM/TOGAF qualification will be an added advantage
• Working experience on Java, API's, Digital skills like AI, RPA etc.
• Soft skills: Be proactive, Excellent communicator, Strong interpersonal skills, Strong problem solving ability, Stakeholder management, Risk management and Delivery oriented
• 3 years + experience of complex OSS BSS E2E design for a telco MANDATORY
• Through knowledge of Telecom OSS BSS Architecture MANDATORY
• Thorough knowledge of eTOM business processes MANDATORY
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written MANDATORY
• Thorough understanding of different SDLC models MANDATORY
