Corporate Planning & Management - Hyderabad - Sr Associate/Junior VP - Enterprise Risk Management Transformation

Enterprise Risk Management Transformation 

Lead high priority and complex risk and control transformation projects for the firm by using best-in-class project management skills and strong working knowledge of financial services and GS-specific operational risk processes. The role creates an opportunity to lead a team responsible for designing and delivering key operational risk frameworks for the firm, engaging at all stages of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) transformation.

The role is located in Hyderabad as part of the first line of defense Operational Risk & Resilience (ORR) team within the Corporate Planning & Management. You will be at the forefront of building and leading a dedicated team in region whose focus is to strengthen the firm’s infrastructure to support the effective management of first line operational risk and resilience across the firm’s business services, including enhancing our risk governance processes. You will work closely with divisional risk functions and the second line of defense Operational Risk teams to help deliver the enterprise risk transformation for the firm.

This role will initially focus on a key regulatory program where you will work as part of a workstream to contribute to the delivery of a multi-year strategic initiative. Post this program your role would be to lead a functional team to execute the ongoing delivery of the risk and control frameworks developed as part of the transformation project.  By performing the role the candidate will acquire detailed knowledge of multiple operational risk management areas within the firm.

 Responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with Operational Risk & Resilience (ORR) leadership divisions to identify, define and document project objectives and requirements
  • Drive forward the development of Process, Control, Risk, Assessment/Incident Management, and Issue Management framework design
  • Lead the mapping horizontal risk processes end-to-end and identifying control gaps as part of the mapping to drive remediation prioritization efforts 
  • Working with and across businesses teams to develop and execute framework proposals to achieve objectives; identifying key milestones and critical path
  • Structuring ambiguous problems and taking action to solve them without complete information
  • Preparing materials for working groups and committees, project dashboards, operating model diagrams, requirement specifications, test plans, etc.
  • Conducting detailed problem tracking, resolution and completion of all actions and issues by their deadlines
  • Communicating updates, statuses and timelines to stakeholders, and escalating items at risk
  • Leading teams with best practices, program-wide tools, dashboards and other enablers 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

 Risk management experience a must –financial and operational risk management experience, specifically, preferred 

  • 6-9 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet competing deadlines – experience in project management is a must
  • People management experience 
  • Drive, motivation and resilience – ability to handle multiple tasks, taking initiative to improve his / her own performance, working intensely towards goals and persisting in the face of obstacles or setbacks
  • Ability to build long-term relationships and consensus across divisions
  • Collaborative and team-oriented
  • Exceptional attention to detail  
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with confidence and ability to create, structure and present messages to senior audiences  
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and MS Excel skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to coordinate activities with multiple interdependencies across a number of GS internal teams. You will be key in connecting various functions or teams and sharing information
  • Creativity and innovation, with an ability to critically examine current processes to propose and develop improvements
  • An understanding of Goldman Sachs business structures and processes (i.e., ability to “navigate GS”)
