Job Description

Being a member of the Application Development team, the Sr. BSA is responsible for translating, business strategy into technical system capabilities that drives the system development deliverables of squad to achieve the product strategy.  As a Senior member of team, he/she shall account for Client, Regulatory, Industry, Audit, Technology Drivers (Security, Best Practices, Upgrades) and other needs along with business drivers. He/She will help define scope and product backlog in collaboration with the squad, Product Manager, clients (internal/external), other tech teams and key team members.

What You'll Do

  • Actively participates with other members of the delivery team (Scrum master, Product Owner, Development and QA) and ensure the delivery team builds solutions that meet business needs in an Agile setting (i.e., scrum ceremonies, collocated team, etc.)
  • Understand the competing priorities for system enhancements such as Regulatory, Industry Changes, Tech Driven priorities, Audit etc. and work with stakeholders to define the roadmap and solution options
  • Help team to deliver on roadmap by proactively managing risks in culture of collaboration and total delivery mindset
  • Helps guide the team to decompose requirements into stories, uncover associated workflows, data and business rules as well as define acceptance criteria based on real world scenarios
  • Review’s improvement requests and bugs to determine solutions that do not negatively affect other product features
  • Lead design walkthroughs, demos and functionality feedback sessions with internal and external partners
  • Resolves and produces just-enough documentation for the functionality being delivered in iterations, but also compiles a running specification that serves as a functional specification for the final deliverable
  • Partners with internal stakeholders such as Integration and Documentation on operational readiness activities by sharing subject matter expertise on features and functions and uncovering operational requirements
  • Helps build BA standards and best practices
  • Demonstrating strong ethical behavior

Sound Like You?

  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred with master’s or equivalent experience

Talents Needed for Success

  • Exhibits solid understanding of Agile Software Development (primarily Scrum and Kanban) principles and techniques
  • Understands and uses applicable work management tools (i.e., JIRA) for decision making and teamwork
  • Drives creative and solution-oriented activity with all participants and partners
  • Hands on technology experience to help understand complexity of solutions, proposed options and implementation details
  • Knowledge of financial services operations and technology, in particular Post Trade Processing, trends is preferred
  • Executes against the Product Vision and optimally translates into Product Roadmap and Backlog items to deliver the highest value
