 Job Description
  SN Required Information Details 1 Role Unix Admin 2 Required Technical Skill Set Unix server administration 3 No of Requirements 02 4 Desired Experience Range 3+ Years 5 Location of Requirement Offshore   Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency) Must-Have

  1. Good Communication Skills
  2. Linux administration skills like
    1. Filesystem Management including LVM & non-LVM partitions with SAN or VMWare storage.
    2. Well versed with Unix architectural features like ssh, vsftp, samba, nfs, http, cronjob management, autofs, DNS, networking etc on RHEL 5, 6, 7
    3. User management with LDAP, local accounts on Linux.
    4. Server Provisioning & Decommision with vmware & Physical linux servers
    5. Hardware maintainance/ management using ILO, Digi, KVM console etc. while coordinating with vendor, application teams
    6. Patch management using Satellite Servers in Linux.
    7. Troubleshooting performance issues on unix servers and working on finding RCAs.
    8. Knowledge of GIT or similar versioning control tool.
    9. Knowledge of Shell Scripting concepts & usage on day to day tasks example looping,variable assignments, setting environment variables etc.
  3. ITIL Service Management with exposure on incident, Problem and Change Management.
  4. Knowledge of multipathing on SAN based servers.
  5. Kowledge of clustering on Unix servers, good to have Veritas cluster solution for Unix.
  6. Flexibility in working rotational shifts including night shift in 24x7 environment.
  7. Knowledge sharing, Escalation procedures & Collaboration skills
Good-to-Have
  1. Knowledge of AWS and cloud fundamentals.
  2. RHCE certification
  3. Knowledge of configuration management tool like ansible , puppet.
  4. Knowledge of any other flavor in UNIX like AIX, SUSE, Solaris 8/9/10.
  5. Knowledge of incident management, problem management, Change management on BMC remedy
  SN Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role 1. Support for 24/7/365 which basically monitors Unix Infrastructure Alerts and take remedial actions within process defined in environment. 2. Project Work:
1. Provision / Decommission Linux OS on Virtual machine or Physical standalone servers.
2. Storage Migration
3. P2V migrations
4. Patching & Upgrades 3. Incident Management: Respond & resolve tickets before SLA gets breached. 4. Infrastructure Downtime/Non-Downtime Maintenance contact email, Update on call details. 5. Setup Blackouts and then take shutdown, reboot of servers as & if required during maintenance window in coordination with App teams and fix server(s) health issues on day 2 day basis.
