Database Administration Practitioner

Job Description:

• Define the necessary guardrails and develop job aids for Google Cloud databases to assist the Application team for their Sarbanes-Oxley (S-Ox) compliance.
• Review the controls is in place by testing the controls over for one or more database technologies (DB2-LUW, Oracle, SQL Server, and Teradata) using defined process.
• Respond to tickets and incidents within the defined service level
• Capable to perform security checks for various database technologies by following the standard documents
• Experience with implementing security and controls as part of day-to-day operations.
• Sound knowledge in preparing process documents and reports for audit support.
• Capable of root cause analysis (RCA) of the incident
• Support the requirements of internal GAO audit and external PWC audit.
• Ensure that Guardium appliances are up and running to enable continuous data collection
• Monitor appliance space usage and action in case the appliance gets full
• Able to work with Operating system admins to resolve issues
• Understand and support Guardium deployment across all supporting technologies (DB2 LUW, Oracle, and SQL server,)
• Periodically review Guardium policy against the business requirements
• Provide 24x7 on-call support for Database Security Compliance

 

Skills Required:

• 4 to 6 years of Database Administrator experiences in on-prem database technologies such as DB2-LUW, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server databases, etc.
• 1 to 2 years of Database Administrator experiences in cloud database technologies such as GCP Cloud-SQL, Bigtable, BiqQuery, Firestore, Spanner, MongoDB, etc.
• 2 to 3 years of experience in IT auditing and/or experience in IBM Guardium administration or other database security monitoring products.
• Knowledge in one or more of the following o Jenkins, Tekton (a modern approach for Continuous Integration and Delivery CI/CD), Terraform, developing Habitat packages (using Linux Bash, Windows PowerShell)
• Knowledge on Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery
• Should be a good team player
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in Production support and troubleshooting issues.

 

Experience Required:

• Basic knowledge or understanding on Linux, AIX, Windows, and Solaris operating systems.
• Knowledge on PLSQL/SQL queries
• Experience in any database monitoring or OS monitoring tool
• Good analytical skills with the ability to meet audit requirements and relate them to appropriate security controls
• Understanding of Information System Policy (ISP), Compliance, Risks, and Security controls
• Knowledge of Cyber Security
• IBM Security Guardium Administration certification or other relevant audit/compliance certification may be preferred

 

Education Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or equivalent

 

Education Preferred:

• Having a CISA certification is nice to have.
