QA
- Manual with Python/Perl/shell scripting (Motivation to learn and ramp up quickly on Python for future need)
Responsibilities
- Create/maintain a library of automated tests to maximize coverage
- Review functional requirements, assess impact on the application and prepare test plan/test cases
- Switch between automation and manual/functional testing work as needed
- Work with supervisor to evaluate and recommend enhancements, document QA processes and improve testing best practices
- Write concise, complete, well organized bug reports, test plans/cases and status reports
- Have 'break-it' attitude and at the same time be a problem solver
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience with writing Python scripts OR Hands-on experience in writing PERL/shell scripts and motivation to learn and ramp up quickly on Python.
- Should have knowledge of file parsing techniques for different file formats such as XMLs, JSONs, CSVs, fixed length etc and perform data comparisons of large volume data
- Hands-on with functional manual testing and working knowledge of QA concepts and Software testing practices
- Hands-on experience with writing complex SQL queries
- Joins, sql clauses, aggregate functions, common built-in functions.
- Hands-on with basic unix commands
- Basic navigation, permissions, file manipulation, file/string searching, system monitoring, script execution
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Hands-on with defect tracking and test management tools such as JIRA, ALM
- At least 6+ years of experience in the field of Software Quality Assurance
