 BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW 

Loan Management primarily supports the Global Management Division and Investment Banking Division within Goldman Sachs. Loan Management, amongst other things, is responsible for directing and facilitating due diligence (at both, the deal and asset levels) for the acquisitions, asset management and sales/securitizations of various types of loan portfolios in the US, EMEA and APAC.

Structured Credit Trading (SCT) and Structured Finance and Lending (SFL) businesses are involved in sourcing and deploying secured funding on a variety of asset classes, illiquid credit trading, secondary market making in CLO’s & hard asset securitizations, structuring and placement of primary issuances. 

Loan Management is currently seeking an Analyst / Associate to support the EMEA SCT desk in its asset management activities. The Analyst / Associate will be primarily responsible for data storage and information management solutions that integrates with analytical tools facilitating the deal closing, monitoring and reporting assets financed. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze the credit quality of structured transactions and provide a view on the underlying performance, pricing suggestions and potential risks & challenges in the future on existing and live trades 
  • Managing financing facilities or warehouse lines and assisting legal and deal teams with negotiation of loan terms and associated documents 
  • Decoding financing facility’s legal documents and formulating the statements into meaningful Excel Models 
  • Managing client relationships and ensuring smooth / high quality execution of various warehouse deals and its activities 
  • Management and oversight of data related to underlying collateral i.e. private equity positions, fundamental analysis of corporations, including data setup, data management, and data validation 
  • Tracking and confirmation of collateral adequacy for funding and margining (collateral covenants, eligibility, concentration limits). Creating Asset Summary Reports 
  • Monitoring of key parameters and financial covenants as per the warehouse legal documents 
  • Actively participate and partner with Information Technology to facilitate Data Warehouse, Reporting and other projects as assigned 
  • Ensure the flow of data underneath all of the analytics is accurate and correct. Working with the desk, technology, and cash operations to achieve the same 
  • Coordinate with Technology and internal departments to develop new GUI data interfaces, create new vendor data feeds, and add enhancements to internal databases 
  • Manage and create data related quality control checks for internal databases and provide resolution through analytic research 
  • Develop reporting solutions through multiple tools as needed. Ability to produce interactive graphs, pivot tables, etc. for reporting 
  • Maintains systems for tracking projects and communicate results to different business groups 
  • BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 2-4 year of experience in asset management, analysis of company financial reports, fundamental analysis. 
  • Strong academic background – in finance, business, math, or accounting degree with a minimum 3.5 GPA equivalent / candidates pursuing CFA 
  • Strong communication skills (clear, concise, and confident) 
  • Ability to manage internal and external relationships 
  • Solid analytical/logical mindset and attention to detail 
  • Commercial focus and interest in financial markets 
  • Able to work under tight time constraints and extended hours as required 
  • Ability to prioritize workload, manage expectations and is a team player
