Will be supporting mission and business-critical production databases within Verizon.

• Managing Enterprise wide Oracle Database environments into the VCG  systems.

• Supporting multiple Prod/Non Prod applications DB and SQL performance tuning.

• Managing Production / Development engagement.

• Managing Emerging technology development.

• Managing Security Management.

• Managing Capacity / Performance planning / Availability Management.

• Managing DB Upgrades and Patching.

• Replicating configuration, upgrades and fixing issues.

• Maintaining Oracle On Prem, AWS RDS and EC2 DB instances.

• Managing Cloud Migration.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

The ideal candidate will have superior industry knowledge, domain experience and expertise in Oracle Internals, performance Tuning, RAC Configurations, Security Administration, Replication, and Data Modelling. They should have experience working with development teams, and a good understanding of Oracle Database Architecture and RMAN Backup and recovery procedures. They will also have experience with Agile methodologies, Replication technologies, Amazon AWS cloud infrastructure, and scripting languages such as Python, shell, and perl. Additionally, they will have extensive knowledge and troubleshooting experience on RAC, ASM, and Performance Tuning, and excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation skills.

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor’s Degree or four or more years of experience.

• Four or more years of experience on Oracle Database Administration.

• Hands on experience on AWS RDS and EC2 DB instances management.

• Good SQL and DB tuning experience

• Should have good experience on Golden Gate and Shareplex replication Technologies.

• Should have good experience on Oracle RAC.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

 

• Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills, and be able to explain complex concepts both concisely and simply.

• Exceptionally self-motivated, solid interpersonal skills and a good communicator.

• Extremely detailed oriented, committed to excellence and takes unrelenting pride in the code you write

• Excellent problem-solving skills, willingness to take ownership and risks, and enthusiasm in the face of technical challenges.

• Strong analytical, debugging skills.
