Site Reliability Engineer

Site Reliability Engineer (JOB DESCRIPTION)
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) is an engineering discipline that combines software and systems engineering to build and run large- scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems. SRE ensures that Rackspace's managed service offerings & customer deployments have reliability and uptime appropriate to users' needs and a fast rate of improvement while monitoring and validating capacity and performance. Focused on reliability, scalability and the development of automation to manage a set of repetitive tasks at scale.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Advocate IaC (Infrastructure as Code) and CaC (Configuration as Code) practices
- 3+ years Mastery of infrastructure automation technologies (like Terraform, CodeDeploy, Puppet, Ansible, Chef)
- 5+ years of experience with programming in languages like Javascript, Python, PHP, Go, Java or Ruby
- 3+ years expertise in container/container-fleet-orchestration technologies (like Kubernetes, Openshift, AKS (Azure), EKS(Amazon), Docker, Vagrant, etcd, zookeeper)
- 5+ years Cloud and container native Linux administration/build/management skills
- Familiarity with site and infrastructure monitoring systems (like ELK, Datadog, AppDynamics, New Relic, Splunk, Sumologic, Grafana)
- Demonstrated expertise building and managing highly scaled production infrastructure in the cloud (Azure required; GCP, AWS, OpenStack a plus)
