DIVISIONAL OVERVIEW
The Goldman Sachs Compliance Division prevents, detects and mitigates regulatory and reputational risk across the firm, and helps to strengthen the firm's culture of compliance. As an independent control function and part of the firm's second line of defense, Compliance:
Assesses the firm's compliance, regulatory and reputational risk
Monitors for compliance with new or amended laws, rules and regulations
Designs and implements controls, policies, procedures and training
Conducts independent testing
Leads the firm's response to regulatory examinations, audits and inquiries
Compliance Engineering empowers these activities by building and operating a suite of software platforms and applications. We are a team of more than 300 engineers and scientists who work on the most complex, mission-critical problems. We have access to the latest technology and to massive amounts of structured and unstructured data. We leverage modern frameworks to build responsive and intuitive UX/UI and Big Data applications, incorporating cutting-edge AI and efficient processes to drive them.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Software Tech Lead you will be:
Drive the overall architecture and design footprint for a product or platform in alignment with divisional and firm engineering roadmaps
Be instrumental in
Providing technical direction to leverage the most relevant technologies for the different business use cases.
Work towards adapting of the most optimal technologies as well as improving the adoption of the latest technologies across engineering teams.
Driving Quality: implementing processes and procedures to maximize the overall quality of software
Execution: Defining key milestones, resourcing & timelines
Develop an understanding of evolving regulatory frameworks & leverage cutting edge technologies to manage firm regulatory and reputational risk
Be a technical lead, develop and drive the institutionalization of best practices around coding, testing – scalability, stability and quality, code reviews and operational readiness across the teams
Collaboration with Local & Global teams allowing for technical discussions, decision making, driving standard code architecture and identifying potential blockers at an early stage
Be able to work on a broad spectrum of problems, often dealing with large data sets, including real-time processing, messaging, workflow and UI/UX
TECHNICAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA or Bachelor/ Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar field of study.
- 5+ years’ experience in software development
- Experience in developing and designing end-to-end solutions to enterprise standards including automated testing and SDLC.
- Ability (and tenacity) to clearly express ideas and arguments in meetings and on paper.
- Experience with one or more of ; Java, Spark, Hadoop, Flink, MapReduce, HBase, JSON, Protobuf, Presto, Elastic Search, Kafka, Kubernetes, UI/UX (AngularJS, ReactJS, Javascript)
- Knowledge of financial industry is desirable but not essential
