Cloud DevOps Engineer - GS ETF Accelerator – VP

Goldman Sachs ETF Accelerator is a new digital platform that enables our institutional clients to quickly and efficiently, launch, list, and manage their ETFs. This unique, “ETF infrastructure as a service” product is being built from the ground up, in an ambitious and dynamic environment. We are a global team of ETF specialists, software engineers, product managers and designers looking for passionate individuals who thrive on teams that rapidly ideate and iterate, to produce the best product for our clients.

The Role

• Design, implement, and review cloud-based architectures to be secure, resilient, and scalable 
• Design, implement, and review the stack of tools and systems for testing, monitoring, and configuring infrastructure.
• Provide guidance to other team members on managing end-to-end availability and performance of mission critical services
• Build automation to prevent problem recurrence, and build automated responses for non-exceptional service conditions
• Partner with engineering and product teams to identify and reduce developer friction

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• 5+ years of software development experience 
• 3+ years of Java or Python experience
• 3+ years of experience building cloud native systems in AWS
• Experience working with Infrastructure as Code, e.g. Terraform, AWS CDK
• Experience working with an event-based architecture e.g. Kafka
• Experience working with and configuring CI/CD platforms, e.g. GitLab
• Experience architecting, developing, and troubleshooting large scale and distributed systems
• Experience in managing and scaling distributed systems in a public, private, or hybrid cloud environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with and configuring monitoring platforms, e.g. Prometheus
• Experience building, testing, and maintaining a micro service architecture
• Commercial awareness
