Senior ServiceNow Developer (Workplace)

We are seeking an experienced Senior ServiceNow Developer to join our team and contribute to an exciting greenfield development project. As part of the Service Management Applications team, the role involves developing solutions in Workplace Experience, Service Management, Business Management, and Operations Management across the enterprise using the ServiceNow platform.

The Senior ServiceNow Developer will be the technical subject matter expert responsible for the design, development, administration, and rollout of solutions on the ServiceNow platform. You will collaborate with internal teams, including Scrum Masters, Technical Product Managers, and other Developers, to design, develop, test, and deploy enhancements, fixes, and configuration changes that support enterprise operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform development and configuration in areas including Service Portal, Service Catalog, Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, Release/SDLC, Asset Management, Configuration Management (CMDB), Project, Timecards, Mobility, Reporting, and Performance Analytics.
  • Collaborate with global teams to scope and design solutions for business and technical requirements, with a focus on minimizing customizations.
  • Design technical solutions to address complex requirements, evaluate alternate options, and implement the best solution.
  • Develop workflows, forms, scripts, and underlying logic using Scrum/Agile methodologies.
  • Implement a comprehensive Quality Assurance strategy, including unit, system integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
  • Actively contribute to automation efforts on the platform.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 6+ years of experience in IT Service Management solutions within an enterprise environment.
  • 6+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development, implementation, and administration experience.
  • Strong understanding of the ServiceNow Application Suite, including ITSM, ITOM, and ITBM.
  • Proficiency in web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AngularJS, XML, SOAP, REST, Jelly, etc.).
  • Solid grounding in web application development fundamentals (identity, security, etc.).
  • Experience with structured data, schema, and databases.
  • Experience integrating applications using RESTful APIs, OAuth 2.0, and GraphQL.
  • Knowledge of ITIL concepts.
  • Familiarity with the Common Services Data Model (CSDM) and CMDB Identification and Reconciliation Rules (IRE).
  • Ability to understand and adapt to complex business needs.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified ServiceNow Administrator, Developer, or Implementation Specialist.
  • ITIL v3 or ITIL 4 Certification.
  • Experience maintaining version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Exposure to cloud architectures such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Experience with Identity Management and Single Sign-On/Active Directory integrations.
  • Knowledge of Automation and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum development methodologies.
  • Leadership experience in technical and organizational contexts.
  • Experience working within large, global enterprises.
