NOC Engineer

Provide 24 hour Network Health surveillance and alarm reporting for devices in Data Center and on remote sites utilizing network monitoring tools and surveillance software.

Monitor a wide variety of information and network systems that include, but are not limited to telecommunications circuits, LAN/WAN systems, routers, switches, firewalls, VoIP systems, servers.

Responsible for basic troubleshooting network routers and switches to isolate the trouble and take appropriate action to resolve.

Monitor the operational support systems to proactively identify service impacting events relating to IT, network, and facility conditions

Escalate problems to the appropriate engineering disciplines within the organization or external vendors as required to achieve resolution

Utilize the trouble ticket system to log all requests and activities including documentation of special requests and customizations considered important for future support

Ensure timely resolution to trouble tickets and effectively documenting all steps taken to resolve identified and/or reported issues

Serve as the primary point of contact for all customer troubles inquiries

Perform Network component maintenance including circuit upgrades (Hardware & Software Upgrades)

Verification of remedial actions being performed, up to and including resolution and/or escalation for resolution through run books and SOP's

Participating and performing Application failovers and switchovers using in-house developed tools
