Purpose Of Role:
 
To work as a designer and developer on the Apigee API Gateways to provide functionality to support service exposure and service consumption in line with our security guidelines.  This role potentially involves development work for TSO unit of BT
 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. To deliver high quality software components according to the specifications provided, following project coding conventions and development methodology. The components delivered should be:

-           Robust. The developer will be responsible for component level testing of the software components produced.
-           Maintainable. The developer will ensure that the code is comprehensible, readable and commented as appropriate.
-           Extensible. Where possible the developer will ensure that the components developed are amenable to change as the requirements change over time.
-           Easily Monitored. The delivered component should integrate with tooling that ensure that business transactions can be effectively monitored and trends analysed

1. Establish and maintain exceptional communications with The Customer(s) and major Stakeholder(s) at all times
2. Design and Development of APIs using Apigee , knowledge in API Management
3. To provide innovative ideas to senior managers on potential areas for BT improvement
4. Deliver software development techniques. As part of their on-going development they will be required to maintain this knowledge and contribute to the evaluation of new tools and processes.
5. To use the relevant BT wide professional community framework to raise their skills and those of their team to the recommended PC standards.

Qualifications:
 

1. Should have experience of 4-6 years in Apigee and experience in  devops - CI/CD with code quality tools .
2. Experience in migrating project from one technology to other is added advantage.
3. Should have at least worked on preparation of design (architecting) for at least one system developed from scratch.
4. Should possess strong knowledge on Agile methodologies & overall on SDLC.
5. Likely to have relevant, contemporary and industry recognised qualifications appropriate to the specific function
6. Likely to have a degree qualification (engineering/science) or has served a technical apprenticeship and/or obtained NVQ and/or further education technical qualifications (i.e. HND).
