Job Overview Candidate in this role will be required to operate in India hours. Manage operational and support responsibilities for numerous critical services supporting Qualcomm's software engineering environment globally. Experience in handling operations role to lead delivery for Tier1/Tier2 with SLA's and Process enhancements. Expected to support and troubleshoot existing systems, solve technical challenges, and enhance the reliability and performance for the services. Front-end Application and Systems support for Software Engineering build Infra. Extensive knowledge in troubleshooting of Windows & Linux related issues & basic storage knowledge with awareness/focus on Netapp.
Minimum Qualifications Excellent oral and written communication skills Solid understanding of Linux and Windows server OS' fundamentals, NFS, CIFS, file systems, Networking, Performance tuning, Scripting. 6 to 8 years of experience Linux/Unix (Ubuntu 12, 14 & 16, RedHat Linux ES 5, and 6) AND/OR 2 to 4 years in Microsoft OS (Windows 2012, Windows 2008, Windows 2003, MS Clustering). Awareness on storage concepts like volume, QTREE, NFS, NTFS, CIFS, Samba etc is very essential for this role. Knowledge of DNS, TCP/IP and other networking concepts Must be a self-starter, team player Excellent troubleshooting skills and customer support experience Customer Service oriented and thrive in a dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications Experience in Linux, Ubuntu, Redhat and clustering technologies and scripting knowledge on Shell, CHEF and ansible would be a definite plus Experience on SAN/NAS would be a plus Experience in Batch queuing technologies/LSF is a plus. Experience in Virtualization technologies (VMWare) would be a plus.
Knowledge of and experience in supporting enterprise applications in a Linux/Unix environment.
Splunk knowledge would be a plus.
