What you will be doing...
The Commercial Data & Analytics - VGS Hub team is part of the Verizon Global Services (VGS) organization. As part of this team, you will be helping to create and deliver a data architecture and product approach for the Value portfolio to support brands such as Tracfone, Visible, and Verizon Prepaid. We are looking for a Sr. Engineer Consultant - Data Engineering who will partner with the onshore team to develop Data Engineering solutions that transform data into products. In the team, you will consolidate data sources and build a semantic layer to make data available for business through core reusable data products available for consumption. Specifically, this role will support data products relating to sales, marketing, and operations teams.
Identify data sources and build pipelines using various ETL tools
Assist in defining the data architecture framework, standards, and principles
Create and optimize data models to support the business applications
Automate and support workflows to ensure timely delivery of data
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define new opportunities
Develop and maintain models, data dictionaries, data catalogs, and data lineage
Monitor and measure the adoption of the data products
Provide technical guidance and collaborate with GTS and Data Engineering teams
Drive innovation and deliver transformative solutions
Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
What we’re looking for…
You will need to Have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience with cloud-based solutions like GCP, AWS, IBM DB2, and Oracle
Expertise in data warehousing platforms
Ability to write SQL queries and scripts using relational databases like Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, or Big Query, and pulling data from SQL/EDW data warehouses
Experience with Data Modelling techniques and Data Warehouse
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and research capabilities
Experience with dashboards creation using Tableau/QLIK
Working knowledge of ticketing tools like JiRA
Even Better if you have one or more of the following:
Master’s degree or PhD in Math, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
Experience developing general reporting, KPIs, metrics, and attributes.
Strong communication and storytelling skills.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and research capabilities.
Experience managing time-bound project deliverables for multiple stakeholders.
Scripting or analytical programming experience (e.g., Shell Script, Python, R, SAS).
Knowledge of ETL process and reporting tools.
