Role: Windows Administration - Migration 2008 servers to most eligible version (Windows 2012/2016)

Essential Responsibilities:

•   Provide global production support for the Windows (2008/2012/2016)

•   Proactively administer and monitor critical infrastructure to ensure the highest level of availability, performance and security.

•   Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve complex hardware/server issues.

•   Configure Windows system registry and services such as SMTP, DNS, IIS, FTP, CIFS.

•   Deploy highly available and scalable multi-hypervisor (VMware/Hyper-v) infrastructure, leveraging Cisco UCS, Dell compute platforms, Dell/EMC storage platforms, NetApp SAN/NAS storage.

•   Design, implement, allocate, and optimize SAN/NAS based storage across multiple vendor solutions to virtual and physical infrastructures.

•   Provision and reclaim storage space from SAN block storage (i.e. Dell/EMC & NetApp)

Qualifications/Requirements: 

•   BS /MS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

•   8+ years of system engineering/administration experience in Data Center hosting environment.

•   Proficient on Windows OS administration

•   Strong hands-on virtualization experience with OVM, vSphere systems administration and support including VMotion, HA, DRS, VDS, Affinity rules, vCenter, storage migrations, Unified Compute System (UCS) and P2V/V2V migrations

•   Experience in SAN/NAS storage administration and good understanding of object, block, & file storage technologies (i.e. Dell/EMC, NetApp)

•   Experience with tape libraries, backup software configuration and disaster recovery (DR) solutions

• Experience with network topology: TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, etc., MAC addresses, IP packets, DNS, OSI layers, and load balancing; SND +.

• Strong oral and written English communication skills. Experience in writing technical documentation a plus.

• Ability to work in a fast paced, 24x7 operations environment while effectively prioritizing tasks based on requirements.
