Consultant/Lead Consultant – SQL Server DBA
This position is part of a DBA team that provides administration for SQL Server databases across the entire enterprise and supports heterogeneous SQL Server environments like Development, Test and Production. This individual creates and maintains backups, restores and facilitates disaster recovery in all production environments. Responsible for ensuring maximum up time with maximum throughput to meet established service-level agreements (SLAs), ensuring backup integrity, and providing support to development and application support groups as needed. The DBA responsibility includes working with architecture, application development and operations to contribute to achieving a state-of-the-art environment that meets current and future business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure new SQL Server both adhoc and via automation where needed.
- Identify and configure SQL Server monitoring utilities/tools.
- Develops security scheme(s) for the database environment; plan and test disaster recovery processes and procedures to meet business's recovery point objective (RPO).
- Good Knowledge on Setup, Configuring and troubleshooting Log shipping, Mirroring, Alwayson and Clustering.
- Good Knowledge SQL server cluster /standalone installations and Service Packs
- Develops proactive methodology for ongoing assessment of database performance and the identification of problem areas
