What you need to know about the role:

As a Big Data Software QA Engineer, you will champion the assessment of Data Science Solution deliverables across various real time services for various products across PayPal, Venmo, Braintree and other areas, performing Big Data applications testing and API testing. Ensuring proper test strategy, planning & flawless execution will mitigate risks for experiences that will engage and benefit our valued customers.

Risk and AIML Platform Solutions(AMPS) is the Bigdata and Machine learning engineering and Platform team and the centre of excellence across PayPal for working with Big Data and Machine Learning. We work closely with Global and Analytical Data Sciences (GADS) ,the R&D group for all of Risk and non-Risk teams. The team has more than 500 software engineers, and other skilled technical staff uniquely focusing on developing data science solutions to aid in detecting and preventing fraud, protecting our customers and in providing better user experience . The group is located in San-Jose (CA), Tel-Aviv, Shanghai and Chennai, and reports to PayPal’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

In this role, you will be responsible for gate keeping the releases and ensure quality for solution engineering deliveries. You will have a customer focused opportunity to set a high bar on expectations throughout the entire software development lifecycle. Vetting requirements against usability will help shape the delivered product. Diligent and detailed use case reviews will help guarantee minimal gap and maximum coverage. Investing and prioritizing automation of critical flows will pave a path towards a successful and efficient continuous integration pipeline, adding quality checkpoints from start to finish.
