Job Description for Oracle Database Administrator (Associate)
Education Guidelines (Typical):
Bachelor's in Science, Engineering or equivalent
Purpose of the Role:
Support BAU/projects in engagements where installation & configuration activities are involved and co-ordinate physical & logical activities during implementation
Areas of Responsibilities:
Technical Responsibilities
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience on 11g/12c/18c/19c Oracle Database Administration
- Should have worked extensively on Production systems
- Experience in handling DR environment and familiarity with DataGuard
- Experience with Database Migration, Installation, Upgrades and Patching
- Should have good understanding of Oracle internal architecture and performance tunings
- Skills to troubleshoot the issues and provide Root cause analysis report
- Should be able to perform the impact analysis on the database, application level changes
- Backup and Recovery Strategies using RMAN and Database cloning techniques
- Flash Recovery Features & Flash back query
- FARSYNC Implementation and Management
- Managing Alerts and Notifications
- Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) Configuration and Management
- Data Guard Configuration and Management
- Oracle GoldenGate Administration
- Working Experience/Knowledge on Exadata systems & Oracle Autonomous Database will be treated as added advantage
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
General Responsibilities
- Perform Build activities (Database configuration) of customer environment and contribute to improve Build process
- Coordinate for Service transition activities
- Initiate change / release requests in line with Cognizant /customer change / release management process
- Work on Problem Management Activities
- Front end/POC on requirement gathering activities under assigned technology domain
- Coordinate on design & solutioning activities under assigned technology domain
- Provide status report on the assigned tasks in the form of project status updates and weekly reports
- Handover the build out to Operations team with necessary Documents & KT Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Coordinate with resolver groups (Operations Team), vendors/carriers for problem solving
- Keeping updated the customer/stakeholder for various aspects pertaining to their project/deliveries
- Contribute towards updating knowledge articles
- Contribute and participate in all organizational technical talks and knowledge sharing forums
- Ensure smooth induction and on-boarding of new joiners
- Act as a buddy for new hires Quality & Process
- Adhere Change Management Process for every change that will be executed in infrastructure
