Application Packaging Engineer –
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Extensive experience in the implementation, administration and configuration of SCCM Enterprise environment.
• Experience with desktop deployment automation architecture, design/migration and troubleshooting.
• Experience managing an OS image for large corporate environments.
• Knowledgeable in desktop virtualization and thin client technologies.
• Contribute to development and ongoing improvement of industry best practices and standards for deploying enterprise desktop technologies.
• Knowledge of the Windows registry, interaction of drivers within the OS, and unattended/silent installs of Windows operating systems.
• Deployment, installation and administration of Microsoft Office products.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to ensure technical solutions are compatible with the company's business needs and strategic objectives.
• Provide technical expertise, guidance and strategic recommendations to other IT groups.
• Functional working and debugging knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
• Investigate, analyze and resolve technical issues and actively pursue mechanisms for preventing, or automating the response to reoccurrences.
• Relies on a working knowledge of standard (Windows) client platform administration, configuration, rights management and file access in order to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job.
• MSI/MAT packages Creation using Admin studio
• Upgrading packages as per the requirement.
• Validating the functionality of the packages according to the source behavior
• Quality testing of packaged applications
• Validating the recipe documents shared by packager
• Deploying the MSI/MST application through SCCM
• User Acceptance Testing Support
• Systems Administration within all aspects of Windows Server. This includes securing, standardizing, documenting, patching, optimizing and monitoring server hardware (or VMs), OS and application stacks.
• Managing Microsoft Technologies such as Active Directory, Group Policy, WSUS, Failover Clustering, KMS, Exchange, SQL Server, IIS, File and Print Services, DNS, DHCP.
• Managing Microsoft Cloud-based services such as Office 365 and Azure as well as other Microsoft-integrated cloud services.
• Lead efforts to identify and recommend new technologies. Utilize technical knowledge and outside resources to identify solutions to IT and business problems.
• Assist with any other duties and tasks that may be required. Occasionally work a modified schedule to perform after hour maintenance or deployments of new software or hardware. Participate in scheduled disaster recovery exercises and on-call rotations.
Required
• Minimum of 5-7 years of supporting Microsoft Windows Server in an Enterprise Environment
• Expertise in managing Windows Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012 and 2012 R2.
• Knowledge of Windows Server 2016 features and updates. Hands-on experience is a plus.
