UNIX System Admin_Pune Location
- Install, configure, administer, maintain, monitor, analyze, tune, and troubleshoot hardware, virtualization and operating system.
- Install, configure, administer, maintain, monitor, analyze, tune, and troubleshoot OS-based high availability clustering and DR solution.
- Maintain servers and VMs – including firmware upgrades, Hypervisor & OS patching, hardening, access management.
- Monitor performance & availability and troubleshoot support issues.
- Capacity management & planning.
- File & update reports regarding server administration.
Server Admins are responsible to install, configure, administer, maintain, monitor, analyze, tune and troubleshoot the compute infrastructure; they need to have strong skills on hardware, hardware monitoring tools, virtualization and OS skills. They are responsible to ensure that compute layer is available and current to meet the business needs of the organization. They need to track and analyze capacity, prepare & execute maintenance schedules, and respond to service outages. Other duties may include scripting or light programming, project management for systems-related projects
- Install, configure, administer, maintain, monitor, analyze, tune, and troubleshoot PowerVM / AIX and Solaris hypervisor/operating systems.
- Familiarity with server management tools from Oracle/Sun & IBM
- Configuration management.
- OS & Hypervisor hardening & Access management including using RBAC .
- Performance & availability monitoring and management.
- Troubleshoot issues, respond to outages and ensure infra availability
- Capacity reporting, management, and forecasting.
- Administration and support [including OS & hypervisor].
- Participation in creation, testing, and execution of Disaster Recovery plans/activities.
- Planning & executing system software maintenance including major & minor upgrades, service packs, and patch management. Should be able to research & deploy manually or automate using scripts and/or enterprise tools such as NIM.
- Maintaining a general level of expertise LDAP and other UNIX-based technologies.
- Maintain working knowledge of storage, networking and security concepts.
- Document operational procedures, services, & system configurations.
- Project consultation & implementation for new infrastructure deployments & upgrades.
- Maintain skills to integrate UNIX with MS Windows Server/Linux environments.
