Responsibilities

1. Create/maintain a library of automated tests to maximize coverage
2. Review functional requirements, assess impact on the application and prepare test plan/test cases
3. Switch between automation and manual/functional testing work as needed
4. Work with supervisor to evaluate and recommend enhancements, document QA processes and improve testing best practices
5. Write concise, complete, well organized bug reports, test plans/cases and status reports
6. Have 'break-it' attitude and at the same time be a problem solver

 
Essential Skills

1. Hands-on experience with writing Python scripts OR Hands-on experience in writing PERL/shell scripts and motivation to learn and ramp up quickly on Python.
   • Should have knowledge of file parsing techniques for different file formats such as XMLs, JSONs, CSVs, fixed length etc and perform data comparisons of large volume data
2. Hands-on with functional manual testing and working knowledge of QA concepts and Software testing practices
3. Hands-on experience with writing complex SQL queries
   • Joins, sql clauses, aggregate functions, common built-in functions.
4. Hands-on with basic unix commands
   • Basic navigation, permissions, file manipulation, file/string searching, system monitoring, script execution
5. Strong written and verbal communication skills
6. Strong analytical and problem solving skills
7. Hands-on with defect tracking and test management tools such as JIRA, ALM
8. At least 6+ years of experience in the field of Software Quality Assurance

• Strong knowledge and recent hands-on experience with following technologies: Python along with use of data science packages like pandas, numpy.
• RDBMS,UNIX/LINUX,file handling (XML, JSON, CSV, ISO, fixed-width),building web-based applications and portals using React-Reduxand/or AngularJS

The Engineer will be part of technology team to provide technical guidance in software design and development activities; plan and execute assigned tasks; develop, maintain and modify existing Business Intelligence application that will do dataset comparisons, analyze the data and provide data visualizations.
 
Responsibilities

• Review product architecture to propose, design and develop most effective BI solutions to meet business requirements.
• Review functional requirements to assess their impact on the software applications and formulate test solutions.
• Review and recommend enhancements & improvements to performance and reliability of the existing application.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing and other validation activities as needed.
• Participate in setup, deployment, configuration and maintenance of environments. 
• Work with QA Engineers to create a library of automated tests to maximize test coverage.
• Work with supervisor's to evaluate and recommend new technologies to ensure quality and productivity.
• Perform design reviews and recommend improvements. 
• Provide trainings and mentor other engineers as required.
• Work with other engineers in planning, prioritizing and executing assigned tasks within deadlines.
