Job Description:

What you need to know about the role 

The Notifications Central platform of PayPal is hiring Sr Manager – Insights to help develop PayPal’s strategy within the Notifications space. The platform enables product specific communication and is responsible for: 
 

• Sending communication to 400Mn+ user base of PayPal and its adjacencies, 

• Developing strategies to optimize PayPal's cost spend on communication, and 

• Maximizing user engagement while managing user churn 

 

This person will be a highly motivated team player with strong analytical skills who specializes in creating and driving data backed initiatives to optimize the platform strategy. The person should be a problem solver suited to approach varied challenges in complex big data environments, collaborating with a wide variety of partners in the company, such as product experts/SMEs, engineers and support to bring their analytical insights to life. 

Your way to impact :- The person should have an outside-in perspective to measure the key performance metrics of the notifications platform and evaluate the impact of the platform in driving the enterprise-wide initiatives. This should subsequently help the overall team to take data backed decisioning and monitor the results of the investments made.  

The day-to-day responsibility of the person will be: 

Furnish insights w.r.t the functioning of the platform & its KPIs and democratize them by sharing reports and dashboards 

Surface patterns w.r.t platform utilization, cost occurrence and end user engagement 

Develop AI/ML backed models to project the platform utilization, cost and user KPIs given a change within the platform/PayPal overall strategy  

In your role as a Sr Manager – Insights, you will: 

• Develop and own data-driven decision strategies to support Notifications Central's charter 

• Plan and execute long-term projects from start to finish 

• Drive end-to-end processes with partners across many organizations 

• Work with product and platform teams to develop cutting edge, scalable and cost-optimized products, to enhance the experience for our global customers 

• Utilize bottom-up, story based, innovative techniques to apply analytical know how onto PayPal’s notifications strategies 

• Measure performance against KPIs and goals and develop dashboards to socialize such KPIs 

• Maintain ongoing communication with stakeholders and peers across the company and share updates with senior leaders in a clear manner 

 

What do you need to bring-  

• Bachelor’s Degree or above in one of the following: economics, engineering 

• 7+ years of work experience in relevant positions (e.g. Decision scientist, data analyst, statistician) 

• Proven analytical skills; knowledge of A/B testing best practices 

• Strong analytical and reporting skills 

• Technical orientation; Experience in SQL / R / Python / other programming language – a must 

• Experienced with data visualization tools such as Tableau 

• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills 

• Experience in building strategy and policies with data backed insights 

• Experience in the Notifications/User engagement domain – an advantage 

• Quick-thinker, fast learner, wide general knowledge, problem solver
