Portal Architect - Role, Responsibilities
Key Purpose of the Role:
Define stable, scalable architecture for web applications (Portal) for both on premise and AWS cloud to meet the business requirements. Re-engineer applications to migrate from COTs products like WebLogic, Oracle DB to Open source technologies. Drive upliftment of applications from legacy technologies to Modern web and cloud technologies to achieve cloud native and eventually move to AWS or market leading cloud platforms.
Principal Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- design portal applications architecture using modern technologies with Java,J2EE and cloud native technologies
- Migrate legacy applications like JSPs, to Modern technologies Angular/ReactJS/Flutter, microservices and containerization
- Should have strong working knowledge DNS, CDN, load balancers
- Good understanding webserver , Applications server based applications, mainly to guide the team from design, development and maintenance phases.
- Ensuring the effectiveness and quality of installed applications by performing post-execution reviews
- Strong in web security standards like OWASP, and security vulnerabilities, DDOS and others
- Inspire, share knowledge and guide the team technically for learning new technologies, design, development troubleshooting issues,
- help organizations implement project solutions and address technological challenges
- Supervising the process of selecting buy or build technology solutions
- assessing business requirements and presenting them with strategic plans

- Research and analyse upcoming technologies continuously to improvise applications to meet the business dynamics
- Strong design patterns to architect and design applications to provide best in class solutions
- Establish and maintain constructive communication mechanism with stakeholders, enable to them to raise their queries and resolve issues amicability
- Good experience in migration the applications from COTS to open source like WebLogic to Docker and k8s.
- Analyse Non-functional requirements for infrastructure estimation
- Good understanding on Devops is a mandatory
Qualifications
Essential
- B.E. or equal degree in Computer Science or related field
- Possess typically 6 - 7 years of previous software engineering or related experience
- Strong Java/J2EE, Microservice, Docker and Kubernatis,AWS
- Provide technical and functional guidance and direction to team members
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
Desirable
- Experience with large Telco service providers is preferred
- AWS solution architect
