The PayPal Core Payment platform team is currently seeking talented, creative, and passionate security engineers to assist in the design and construction of a Settlement Payments platform on a public cloud. This platform processes billions of dollars in payments per year across 195+ countries, impacting over 250 million PayPal users globally. As a self-motivated and enthusiastic member of our team, you will work with extremely talented peers in a fun environment to build highly scalable, configurable, available, and performance-efficient systems.

- This is an opportunity to be a technical leader within the Payments Team and PayPal in general.
- You will work closely with product and business functions to come up with optimal solutions to drive key revenue, growth, and compliance initiatives.
- You will get an opportunity to work on one of PayPal’s most heavily used services to build and support systems that serve tens of millions of requests per day with low latency and high uptime.
In your day-to-day role you will be responsible for:
- Design, build and operate scalable cloud solutions at the heart of PayPal
- Build and take operational responsibility of async payments platform services used by millions of users
- Be a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional agile team, contributing to design and code reviews
- Mentor other engineers on the team and provide technical leadership
What do you need to bring:
- 10+ Hands-on experience building, delivering, and managing cloud IaaS environments using IaaS AWS/GCP platforms
- Experience in Java - Experienced in Distributed System development using Java/J2EE/Web Technologies/C++.
- Exposure to Agile Methodologies - Must have Hands on experience in cloud database technologies and solving DB scalability, DB related problems in a way that not only comply with required standards but also contribute materially to the security of Target systems.
- Big data experience is a plus. - Proficient in containerization tools such as Kubernetes and Docker.
